WORKSHOP FOR SWEDISH IMMIGRANT NGOs WAS HELD ON THE 3RD-4TH OF FEBRUARY IN
BARCELONA, SPAIN
The workshop was intended forknowledge and experience exchange between mentors working with
integration activities at Swedish ethnic NGOs and Spanish organizations, located in Barcelona.
The 2-day workshop was called "Introduction to Innovative Guidance Methodology for the
development of key skills for immigrants by NGO’s” and consisted of study visits to 4 Spanish
companies as follows:

It is to be noted that Ministerio de Empleo y Seguridad Social (Ministry of labor of Spain) was present
at the workshop.

acquired from Ministry of labor of Spain, I hope we managed to establish bridges for further
collaboration!”, - says YevgeniyaAverhed, the project manager and deputy director of the
Department for International Cooperation of Folkuniversitetet.
”Competence development for immigrant NGOs” ("Kompetensuppbyggnadförinvandrarföreningar")
is ESF project that started in July 2012 and intended to finish in July 2014. The overall project
objective is to promote social, cultural and labour market integration of third country nationals
through training and capacity-building of immigrant non-profit organizations. Within the
projectimmigrant NGOs in Uppsala, Gävle,Vesterås, Falun and Orebro are exchanging experiences
and good practice with NGOs in Netherlands, Spain and Greece to become an active player in the
integration policy in Sweden.
