ACAPO launches issue 17 of Louis Braille magazine
It was released on 2 May, issue number 17 of the Journal Louis
Braille, a specialized publication in visual impairment. In this
edition, we highlight the interview with Christine Ha, an American
with visual impairment who won the third season of the
MasterChef cooking program. The issue also features articles on
the Braille system in the context of new technologies, the system
of allocation of assistive products and tax benefits for persons
with disabilities, as well as a report that portrays the life of three
young blind students.
EBU promoted youth employability training course
EBU promoted a youth employability training, from 19 to 21 May in Tirrenia (Italy). This is
the second edition of a training for young people with visual impairment aged under 30,
unemployed or looking for their first job. Participants had the opportunity to acquire
knowledge related to areas such as job search, preparation of resumes or preparing for a
job interview. This course was supported by the “Rights, Equality and Citizenship”
Programme (REC) of the European Union.
International training on senior active learning
The city of Premantura (Croatia) hosted, on 19 and 20 May, a training under the project
Visal (Visually Impaired Seniors Active Learning). This training was targeted for officers
and leaders wishing to develop work in this area. Trainees had the opportunity to acquire
knowledge related to the promotion of quality of life of older people with visual disabilities
in areas such as access to learning content, social inclusion or promotion of self-esteem
This training was supported by the “Rights, Equality and Citizenship” Programme (REC)
of the European Union.

May 20 and 21 : ACAPO was present in the Education and Health Fair in Belém
(Lisbon). Target: general public.
May 24: “Cherries, music and poetry read in Braille”, a cultural event in Fafe with
ACAPO participation. Target: general public.
