The US Deptof Transportationreportsthattwentyfourpercentof all car accidentsoccur due to
weather-relatedissues.A weather-relatedaccidentbytheirdefinitionis“anaccidentthat occurs in
whenrain,sleet,snow,fog,wetpavement,and/oricypavementispresent.”
In theirstudyithas beendeterminedthat7400 fatalitiesare causedeachyearby weather-related
automobile accidents.Thisstudyalsofoundthatthere are over673,000 injuriesthathappenduring

annuallyonthe roadwayswithcoststhat exceed$25 billion.
