2. What is Culminatum Innovation?
Culminatum Innovation is a regional development company
seeking to improve the international competitiveness and
attractiveness of the Helsinki region.
Combining expertise from the public and private sectors,
universities and research institutes, the company enhance
business renewal and region’s sustainable development.
Our services include:
• preparing and implementing development projects
• innovation and commercialisation services
• networking services
• regional development projects
The company also implements the national Centre of Expertise
programme (2007-2013) in the Helsinki region and administers
several other development projects in Finland and internationally.
The company owners include the municipalities, the Uusimaa
Regional Council, the cities of Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa,
universities, higher education and research institutes within the
region, and companies.

Mission: The project is about promo3ng and networking Finnish SMEs and r&d&i actors in field of
environmental technology and cleantech in St.Petersburg region and North‐West Russia.

Culminatum Innova3on’s role in the project: Culminatum Innova3on’s exper3se areas in the
project are eco efficiency and energy efficient construc3on in urban environment. Culminatum is
also responsible for coordina3ng the project.
5. Basic information about the ESYLEP-project (2010-2013)
Objec3ves:
• To develop opera3on models for the Finnish SMEs networking to Russia
• To find business partners and clients for the Finnish SMEs from Russia
• To develop and strengthen the SME services of Helsinki Centre in St. Petersburg
• To strengthen coopera3on between Finnish public and semi‐public innova3on actors suppor3ng
the Finnish SME’s in Russian markets
Results:
• About 50 Finnish SMEs or other organiza3ons will find partners from Russia
• New opera3on models and services for the innova3on and business coopera3on in Russia
• The role of Helsinki Centre and its SME services in St. Petersburg will be stronger
• Finnish SMEs knowledge about Russian markets and actors in the chosen fields will be increased
significantly
