This document provides an overview of RATAVA'S LINE, a collaborative cyber-fashion event and online mystery game between the Fashion Institute of Technology and Simon Fraser University on April 23, 2003. It discusses aspects of the collaboration including creating and translating fashion designs in virtual environments, exploring virtual worlds to support artists, and an interactive narrative performance with actors on both coasts. New online collaborative tools used include Adobe Atmosphere for shared 3D spaces, real-time chat, and webcam. The collaboration aimed to explore new design and learning skills, as well as new ways of marketing and careers in virtual portfolios, gaming, interactive storytelling, and virtual set design.
