The cervix is located at the lower end of the uterus where it joins the vagina. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women worldwide and is often caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Symptoms may include abnormal vaginal bleeding or no symptoms until advanced stages. Prevention methods include HPV vaccination, condom use, pap smears, and maintaining a healthy diet. Studies have shown that compounds in ginseng, such as ginsenosides, may have anti-tumor effects and help control metastasis, inhibit cancer cell invasion and proliferation, and demonstrate preventative effects against cervical cancer.
