Definition:
• The Cloud is a general term for
anything that involves
delivering hosted services over
the Internet.
• May also be referred to as:
• “SaaS” which is Software
as a Service
• “On-Demand”.
Characteristics:
• It is sold on demand
• typically the user pays for access
to the platform and for the “traffic”
that is generated by their
organization
• it is elastic -- a user can have as
much or as little of a service as
they want at any given time; and
the service is fully managed by
the provider

Vendor calls having been reduced by 50% and can now be
resolved in a single call (which reduces the time to resolution
significantly)
Invoice approvals which can occur in a fraction of the time in
comparison to the old method of manually routing and/or manually
scanning and emailing
Increased visibility, you cannot actively manage what you are not
actually measuring.

Editor's Notes
Everything seems to be talking about “the cloud” and “cloud computing” – so much has this been part of the discussion over the past couple of years that when I stumbled across this cartoon it dawned on me that there’s really quite a conversation to be had about “going to the cloud” and what it really means from an infrastructure and vendor/partner relationship. This can be especially true when you are talking about processes that are so key within your organization.
By looking to implements a solution like AP Automation and using “The Cloud” for delivery, it can assist your organization to bridge the gap from where you are with your process to where you want to go.Esker assists customers in doing this both using the Cloud and traditional on-premise software.
Before we get started, I wanted to share a story about one of my customers…this particular client has been “live” on a fully automated solution, in the cloud, for over 2 years. They have had a number of successes– things that they have shared include:Staff having 45% more time to focus on value added tasksVendor calls that have been reduced by 50% and can now be resolved in a single call (which reduces the time to resolution significantly)Invoice approvals which can occur in a fraction of the time in comparison to the old method of manually routing and/or manually scanning and emailingVisibility, you cannot actively manage what you are not actually measuring.
