Emertxe Certified Embedded Professional (ECEP) is a flagship job-oriented training program offered by Emertxe. This slide deck has induction detail about course structure and delivery.
4. Embedded industry
in India
Phase- I
• Outsourced product development from India
• Purely cost advantage
• Project or contract based work execution
Phase - II
• Offshore development centers of major MNCs (ex: Intel, TI, HP etc…)
• Task level ownership
• Augmenting teams in the head-quarters
Phase – III
• Complete product development from India
• Domestic market needs
• Higher value added activities – product ownership, product launch,
innovation, IP creation
5. Problem statement:
What are we trying to address?
Industry-Academia gap
(Higher employability through hands-on trainings)
Low conversion ratio in Hiring
(Candidate turn-out vs selection)
Domain specific ramp-up
(Project based induction programs)
Organizational skill building
(Long term skill and talent management)
Skill level challenges are faced by both organizations and academia
6. Key challenges

8. Popular career myths
•Reality: More than 6,80,000 jobs in market. Companies finding hard to hire
Myth1: There are less jobs in Embedded Systems
•Reality: CSE / IS skills are very much required. Anyone with creative skills!
Myth2: It is only for ECE / EEE students
•Reality: Programming is everywhere. YOU must solve customer problem
Myth3: Core job in Embedded doesn’t involve programming
•Reality: As long as devices are there in this world, Embedded will be there
Myth4: Embedded looks old. Long term career is not there
•Its not about learning new syntax. Learn one language very well to solve
problems
Myth5: The more programming language I know, the better
it is for me

Entry level engineers go through systematic, step-by-step approach to increase their
skills and capabilities. Our course curriculum & delivery methods help them to achieve
this.
Each subject is provided with a set of high quality projects, to ensure students build a
working solution based on what they have leant.
14. Crux of coaching
“Any life can be damaged by the wrong words from the right person’s lips.
Conversely, any life can be healed by the right words from the right person’s
lips. Each of our lives has been touched by the presence of one individual who
made a tremendous difference. That individual may have trusted in you when
others doubted, backed you when others backed away, saw deeper into your
soul than you ever imagined possible. That person provided a kind word at a
critical moment, an encouraging smile, or an arm around the shoulder”
Emertxe training methodology believes and implements “coaching”
approach, by building in skill and confidence in individuals.
15. Learning by doing
“Learning is far more efficient when the person is encouraged to develop
solutions with their own-hands. With this approach individuals will go
through “do-reflect-generalize-apply” cycle thereby able to meet industry
expectations. Applying learning to practical problems is key to building
technology businesses”
Emertxe trainings lay very high stress on hands-on, practical methodology
for getting prepared for industry. By taking this problem solving approach
learning is more engaged and effective.

Our assessment system evaluates candidates in a holistic manner –
Technical know-how, problem solving, process knowledge, aptitude,
behavioral parameters
19. Progress report
Important:
Assessment band is an indicator, not to be seen as a CGPA / %
Will have direct relation with placement chances v/s placement conversion
Placement companies ask for this data, we share the grades as A, B+, B, C and D
starting from top to bottom. This will make a difference in company shortlisting
Use it as a measure for continuous improvement
20. DISHA system
Company specific coaching
(Refresher sessions, previous papers etc.)
Resume workshop
(Creating impressive résume, review)
Interview workshop
(How to crack tech & HR interviews?)
Behavioural skills
(How to behave in workplace?)
Career building
(Suggestions, Advise, Guidance)

23. Placement eligibility
Aggregate > 60% in B.E / B.Tech
Min cut-off (40%) in all assessments and exams
Min number of assignments (70%) in every module and 1 project to
be completed per module
Attendance to be maintained above 90%
In case you are not able to meet the above, only exception is to
have more than 70% score in the module
24. Placement details
Placement process ‘begins’ by the end of Embedded C module and
continues further
Resume workshop is conducted by the end of Embedded C module, its
important to complete all projects & assignments
Shortlisting criteria will differ between companies its purely depends on
the company
The critical core subjects for placement conversion: Embedded C + Data
Structures + Linux internals & networking + Micro-controllers
Company specific details are shared before sending individuals to
companies
For higher performing students ‘PowerTrack’ approach is taken with higher
level of skill building and premium company placements
26. Important points
Discipline and regular attendance is the key
Preparing Aptitude, Basic electronics, Final year projects –
YOUR responsibility!
Vertical & Horizontal roles will vary between companies or
even within teams. We will not be able to demand anything
with companies in this regard
Don’t have any side-line conversations with companies (HR /
interviewer), Emertxe will take care of complete co-
ordination
By keeping placements as topmost priority our course
schedule will be adjusted. Don’t see this as DELAY!
27. Placement Blacklisting
Placement blacklisting happens to any student when he / she creates
issues in terms of the following:
• Company specific package, terms, conditions will be communicated well in
advance. You need to say NO (in case) well in advance. In case you reject the
offer you will be blacklisted
• If you don’t show up for test/interview without informing us
• Companies found incorrect data presented (ex: CGPA / Percentage)
Once a student is blacklisted he / she will not be allowed to further apply
for any placements. However there is no issue in continuing the course
Please note when above mentioned process is followed to protect
Emertxe’s relationship with placement companies and other student’s
career
