In this world there is a multitude of fruits and vegetables that are used daily by
people and are very well known . Besides our traditional fruits and vegetables ,apples
,pears ,cucumbers ,salad and the most famous ones like bananas , avocados and
pomegranates ,we have some fruits and vegetables I have never heard of. This is called
exotic because they have fabulous properties dressed in strange aspects. Some examples
are african cucumber ,mangosteens , the dragon fruit,the Durian fruit ,black eggplant
,marmands , guava brazilian ,safou ,cucona ,Jack Fruit , morella de Balbis ,jaltomatto,
ackee, litchi ,noni ,hand of Buddha , salak , bame, carambolla , calabash ,granadila ,red
bananas , cuncoat ,luffa ,duko .
Many of them helps the organism and others doesn’t consume but are used only by
the decoration. Them use all our vitamins and nutrients in our favor . It is said that
some of them may reduce the risk of developing certain kidney of heart disease .
For example the mangosteens it’s good for the skin; it’s traditionally used for a
number of conditions, including eczema. Besides the fact that mangosteen has an
antioxidant effect on the body, mangosteen’s nutritional profile also provides additional
health benefits by helping control blood sugar levels and aiding the digestive system.
Another example is the Jack Fruit. Jackfruit is commonly used
in South and Southeast Asian cuisines.The ripe and unripe fruit and seeds are
consumed. The jackfruit tree is a widely cultivated throughout tropical regions of the
world. The flesh of the jackfruit is starchy and fibrous and is a source of dietary fiber.
The pulp is composed of 74% water, 23% carbohydrates, 2% protein, and 1% fat. In a
100-g portion, raw jackfruit provides 400 kJ (95 kcal) and is a rich source (20% or
more of the Daily Value, DV) of vitamin B6 (25% DV). It contains moderate levels (10-
19% DV) of vitamin C and potassium, with no other nutrients in significant content.
