U.S. University Admissions Officer
We recommend that you contact the admissions officers of the colleges where you plan to applying. Contacting a
college admissions officer gives you the chance get the scoop on everything, from courses to life on campus. Con-
sider the following when contacting a college admissions officer:
1) Do most students live in college residences?
2) Is the climate there variable throughout the year? Attend a college fair this fall!
3) Which other cities are close to the college? How close?
4) What is the international mix of students at the college like?
5) What are the average ACT/SAT scores of the accepted students?
6) Which majors are especially well known at the college?
7) What is the acceptance rate from the candidate pool?
What is the size of the campus?
8) Do PhD students/teaching assistants teach courses?
9) What are the living expenses?
10) What is the typical class size?
11) What are the sports facilities like?
12) What other extra-curricular activities are there (music, drama, etc.)?
