1. "When we first met, you were giving up your Friday mornings each week
to advise us. It was clear that you had a big heart and a massive amount
of knowledge to share.
We knew that you would be great for Edge but no- one could have
predicted the impact you have had over the last seven years.
You have put that heart and brain into overtime for everyone at Edge.
From the start it's never been about you but always about the team or the
directors. That selflessness was maintained right through til the end. I've
learnt so much from you and for that I am forever indebted. There are
many more but here's my lasting lessons from the school of Eddie
Thomas.
• Lead from the front, if you want to be successful, put your heart and soul into something
• Keep it personal, businesses are about people, get to know them, care for them, mentor them, nurture them and treat them
fairly
• If you want to improve things create a problem, make it bigger than it is and continually draw attention to that problem, don't
give up on it until there's change.
• Never stop driving, driving driving, driving.
• Don't be satisfied with the status quo.
• Know your numbers
You have endured sweat and tears for others through out and none more than when you got the final deal through. I thank you for
everything you have done, for your support for me throughout and for leaving the legacy for Rich and I to take forward. Don't stop pushing
us. I hope we can do you proud.
I can't wait to see you switch off and put some time back into you, Karen, James and Hannah and the family back in the UK. No-one
deserves it more.
To many more years of mentoring." Fergus
