1. CubbyCap—Installation Instructions
Thanks for purchasing CubbyCap—A way to transform your Model S cubby!
Please read these instructions before you install the CubbyCap.
Overview: CubbyCap has been designed for those CCI owners who want to transform their open cubby
into a closed storage space. CubbyCap is easily installed and requires no screws, drilling or special tools.
IMPORTANT: Please be sure to read and review these instructions, including making a ‘dry run,’ before
removing the adhesive tape covering on the hinges (see Step 2 and adhere CubbyCap to your Model S
cubby. The automotive adhesive used for the cubby cap hinges and magnetic latch is very strong and
cannot be easily removed.
Installation. The following installation instructions will enable you to install CubbyCap without difficulty or
damage to your Model S cubby.
Figure 1. The CubbyCap
Step 1. If your Model S has an Evannex Center Console Insert (CCI), remove it for easier installation.
Step 2. Perform a dry run. Before you remove the adhesive covering (red strips) from the CubbyCap
hinges line up the top, left and right edges of CubbyCap to the inside edges of the cubby box.
The sides of CubbyCap should just touch the inside edges of the cubby (see Figure 2a). Then,
practice bend the hinges (do NOT remove adhesive) to fit the bottom underside of the cubby
(see Figure 2b) frame. Once you’re satisfied with fitment, remove the CubbyCap.
Step 3. Remove the protective adhesive strips from the hinges (Figure 1) and perform Step 2
again. This time, however, the adhesive is “live”, so when you press and bend the CubbyCap
hinges into place, they will adhere to the curved front bottom surface of the Model S cubby.

Step 4. Install the magnetic latch plate in the center top inside surface of the Model S cubby (see
Figure 3). Before removing the red adhesive covering from the magnetic latch plate, center the plate on the
small magnet in the CubbyCap door [centered 4 5/16” (110mm) from inside edge of the cubby] and position
it so the front edge of the latch touches the inside straight edge of the cubby top surface (see Figure 3).
Note: The brushed aluminum display frame sits above the cubby. Do not align the latch with the aluminum
display frame, but rather with the inside straight edge of the cubby top surface (see Figure 3). The intent is
to ensure that the magnet in the CubbyCap door will ‘catch’ the plate. Mark the position of the plate with a
pencil.

Step 5. Remove the adhesive covering from the latch plate and using the pencil markings, press the
latch plate into place for about 5 seconds.
Your CubbyCap is now ready for use!
