2. “An advanced city is not one where even the poor use cars,
but rather one where even the rich use public transport”
Enrique Peñalosa, mayor of Bogotá 1998-2001
3. Passenger information system
TRAFI was initially set up as a Transit app, combining time tables and GPS
locations of all modes of transport in one clear application.
With three main areas, the app acts as an assistant to frequent transit users and
newcomers to a city:
• Search offers passengers a way to find their way across town in the most
convenient way using Public Transport, using scheduling that is optimised by
our proprietary learning algorithms.
• Schedules shows the time tables of all modes of transport in a clear overview,
including a handy overview of the options departing from the passengers
“nearest stops”. These timetables can be downloaded for offline use;
• News shows updates on specific routes that are shared by our users.
TRAFI has gained the #1 position amongst
all transportation apps in Istanbul and the Baltic
states, fully on it’s own merit.
4. Route search
Ideal for occasional trips, route search offers passengers multi-
modal options to travel through public transport
to a specific destination.
• Using real-time information to show which buses are nearby
• Showing news updates that are applicable to that route to
make users aware of traffic issues
• Using scheduling that is optimized through our unique
statistical analysis and real-time information
• Learning from user preferences
Route search is now also available offline, to reduce
network reliance for passengers
5. Schedules
Great for finding regular routes when you know which transport
to take, or when you want to see the schedule of a nearby stop,
TRAFI offers a structured and informed overview of the
accurate bus schedules.
• Showing vehicle arrivals based on real-time information
• Showing applicable news updates and statistically relevant
updates inside the schedule
Schedules are now also available
offline, to reduce network reliance for passengers
6. News
Through the news section, passengers can send
and receive updates that are relevant to specific
journeys on the bus.
• Monitored by TRAFI to validate the updates and to
reroute other passengers.
• Warnings show up in both the search results and
schedule views.
• Can also be used by partners with relevant
updates at specific destinations, such as
• museum opening times.

9. Agency information system
TRAFI has evolved into a serious player in Agency Information System provision
• APIs and widgets: through our modern API family we offer real-time reliable
insight directly into our data warehouse, powering widgets on agency websites and
partner apps, arrival prediction displays at retail locations, and even offers
corrected GTFS feeds to our partners.
• Real-time dashboards: our unique analytical data approach provides the most
accurate view on vehicle speed, route, prediction accuracy and popularity of routes
(at times of day/week), which we make available through cloud-based dashboards.
This can power a full cloud-based control centre.
• GPS Tracker system using off-the-shelf GPS trackers, TRAFI has allowed
transport agencies to upgrade to a fully-tracked GPS system streaming real-time
information to both control centres and passengers.
Using the most cloud-based infrastructure available, TRAFI combines high accuracy and
reliability with high scalability at a cost level that was unachievable before.
10. APIs
for customised integrations
TRAFI’s cloud-based API’s can provide
screens with real-time departure times and
and best routes to popular destinations,
customised to your needs.

11. Route search widgets
on Web, Mobile and offline
Multiple API and widget options exist to enable integration of
public transport into websites, from the full search widget
used by IstanbulUlasim.com (Istanbul Metro) to “travel here
with TRAFI” buttons that can be placed on any website.
This enables agencies to instantly update their web and
mobile properties with the most modern search and reference
functionality, and integrates all public transport modes into the
life of the city.

12. Real-time cloud-based dashboards
a control centre in the cloud
Our unique analytical data approach provides the
most accurate view on vehicle speed, route, accuracy,
popularity of routes (at times of day/week) and even
occupancy for the entire fleet.
We can provide live updating cloud-based
dashboards that give transport agencies real-time
insight.
13. Fleet management
cloud-based assignment management
TRAFI’s fleet management package offers the essential benefits of
traditional silo-ed all-or-nothing systems at a fraction of the cost and
complication. Can be deployed in combination with TRAFI’s GPS
tracker solution or standalone supporting existing trackers.
• cloud-based bus assignment, with templates for daily data entry.
• internet-based control centre: dashboards for central tracking of
all buses, signalling when buses leave their routes;
• predictive analysis yielding up to 200% higher accuracy of arrival
time predictions;
• cloud-based and following the latest standards: robust, reliable
secure and scalable.
No back-end installation, no servers, no maintenance. Implemented
in minutes, not months.
14. Open data provision
Using TRAFI to provide open data
For cities and agencies who are interested in open data,
TRAFI can be the open data partner, providing structured
data to any 3rd party that would like access. The benefits for
an agency or city are significant:
• Due to our flexibility in importing transport data, we can
import from web pages, structured data, or data input.
There is no need to change existing systems.
• TRAFI will generate the data files and feeds for third parties
according to standard specification. There is no need for
third parties to change their systems.
• TRAFI serves third parties from its data warehouse, easily
scaling to large numbers of parties. There is no need to
invest in scalable IT server solutions or capabilities.

15. Schedule deviations dashboard
real time dashboards
What?
• Delays map (live), showing differences versus the
official schedules
• Coming soon: ability to show recent passenger
messages on the map
Why?
• Highlights which buses are late
• Helps define or refine schedule modifications
• Alerts to temporary situations
16. Real time vs. scheduled analysis
real time dashboards
What?
• Analyse schedules deviations for certain times
of day, comparing between bus lines or
between bus stops.
Why?
• Shows which schedule deviations are common
• Clear input for schedule optimisations

17. User/behaviour analysis
real time dashboards
What?
• Most popular searched routes on a map
• Most popular search starting points and destinations
• Most popular routes to/from specific stops
• Routes with most “agony” (waiting time and stops)
Why?
• Predict changes in occupancy
• Alert to unusual route search behaviour
• Understand user demand per route

18. Track map generation
tools for transit authorities
What?
• Automatic generation of track maps based on real
time data, in custom colour schemes.
• Automatic detection of temporary or permanent
route changes e.g. due to building works.
Why?
• Fast and accurate refresh of manually created track
maps to actual situation
• Possibility to re-generate maps for online publication
to notify passengers of such changes.
19. GPS tracker solution
fast and low cost fleet upgrade
Successfully implemented in Lithuania, our GPS tracker solution
offers all the benefits at a fraction of the cost and complication.
• internet-based control centre: dashboards for central tracking of
all buses, signalling when buses leave their routes;
• predictive analysis yielding up to 200% higher accuracy of arrival
time predictions;
• empowering passengers with real-time bus movements and
arrival time prediction in their pocket and on bus-stop information
panels;
• cloud-based and following the latest standards: robust, reliable
secure and scalable.
No back-end installation, no servers, no maintenance. Implemented
in minutes, not months.
20. TRAFI can provide
targeted messaging to passengers
Our app provides a targeted method of reaching
passengers, by route taken (currently or in the
past), by time of day or any other filter.
For example, transport agencies could improve
messaging by proactively making morning
commuters on bus 53 aware of a delay due to a
road closure tomorrow morning. TRAFI

Realising our aim
getting more people to use public transport
TRAFI believes Public Transport is key to solving
congestion, solving our climate crisis and making cities
more enjoyable.
We are working hard on making public transport more
convenient:
• easier to understand though easy route-search
• more predictable through our unique statistical approach
• more enjoyable through our news section
62% of passengers in the UK would like to reduce time
commuting. We cannot change traffic, but we can
make it easier, more predictable and more enjoyable.
TRAFI’s results:
Up to 60% of people use public
transport more after using
