Estimator/Project Coordinator, Calgary, AB
Jul’ 14 – Apr’ 15
Responsibilities: Report to Estimating Manager and prepare take offs / cost estimates input for different project phases
for budgetary purpose as well as bid packages up to $9.3 Million. Interpret and analyze shop drawing, blue prints /
Isometric drawings, work with suppliers / contractors to develop system-based and manual take off as needed. Develop,
challenge and update project based productivity factors and mark ups to prepare final estimates for submission to senior
management.
Key Accomplishments:
 Prepared and reviewed estimates for 19 industrial and commercial bids worth $ 19.3 M in fiscal 2014 won 8 of
those bids worth $6.3 Million.
 Implemented estimation software and loaded all labor, material costs, equipment rental and other supplies into

 Suggested revised bid to client with 15% reduction in anticipated project cost for various major process
packages resulting in overall cost reduction of over $50,000 on individual projects.
 Developed outsourcing model in estimation department to drive cost down and prevent anticipated hiring. This
process has reduced estimation department cost by about 25% and increase bid preparation / turnaround time by
35%.
 Revised labor, productivity, freight and contingency costs of EPC contractor reducing cost estimate by 10%,
and at same time included additional cost items in estimate that were originally missed.
