4. Literature review
• Fletcher (1999)-50 percentage of the respondents out of 245
graduates in nine Graduate Enterprise Programme (GEP)
pursuing business start-up courses were females.
• Herderson and Robertson (2000) concluded through their
study the fact that positive images of entrepreneurship as a
career option was negatively affected by lack of identifiable
role models, poor media presentations of individual or small
firms, lack of encouragement from important influencers on
career choices such as teachers and career guidance
specialists.
