Solomon’s reign began c. 970 B.C.
The fourth year of Solomon is 480
years after the exodus (1 Kings 6.1).
So, Israel departed Egypt c. 1446 B.C.
Israel entered Canaan a little more than
41 years later.
c. 1405 B.C.

✔ The conquest happened in the spring, after the
harvest.
✔ The conquest occurred quickly.
✔ The inhabitants of Jericho didn’t escape.
✔ The wall fell down flat and the Israelites
went up into the city.
✔ Jericho was “devoted to Jehovah,” Israel took no
personal plunder.
✔ Jericho was burned.
