Who are you and what do you do here?
Uh my name is Matt Candelaria and I’m the Lab Manager here at Downtown Vapes, E-Liquid
by DTV
How long have you been vaping?
I’ve been vaping about 3 years, I started back in February of 2013
And did you smoke cigarettes before you started vaping?
I did, I smoked cigarettes for about thirteen years. I started smoking on a regular basis when I
was about 12. By the age of 15 I was a pack a day smoker, Marlboro Red one hundreds, so
pretty heavy smoker.
How long have you lived in West Palm Beach?
I’ve lived in West Palm Beach just over 2 years, but I am a Florida native. I was born and
raised in Hollywood, which is about 50 miles south of West Palm.
What device are you currently using?
Currently I am using a custom 40 AMP Raptor, from Buffalo Box Mods. This is number 8. It’s a
40 AMP Raptor Box with a Doge V1 [rebuildable dripping atomizer] with a Comp cap.
And what kind of juice are you vaping on?
I am vaping Potion #9 e-liquid by DTV. Definitely my favorite juice, I’ve been vaping this
exclusively for right about 6 months now, I am biased to it, I created it, but I can’t get enough
of it, I love this stuff. Hundred plus mls a week.

2. What’s your favorite part of vaping?
My favorite part of vaping is that it’s completely customizable, no two people have to use the
same device or the same liquid or the same tank or RDA or anything like that. Whatever
works for you works for you and it doesn’t necessary have to work for someone else. Also the
fact that it gets people off of cigarettes and it saves lives, is huge. I get like this incredible joy
when I switch somebody from smoking to vaping. And I think people can see that it’s just, it’s
huge to be able to help somebody make such a big decision in their life and such a change to
better their life.
What’s the first device that you ever used?
First device I ever used was a Cigalike Cartomizer thing that leaked in your mouth and held a
charge for like 20 minutes and that lasted all about a week back in like 2009. But then the first
device that I actually used on a regular basis and carried around with me was a disposable
CE4 with an EGO-T 900, that I would buy like once a month I’d buy a brand new one from my
barber who sold them out at the shop.
What made you wanna start working at Downtown Vapes or the vaping industry as a
whole?
Well before downtown vapes, I used to make liquid with this kid and it was just really
interesting and I thought it was like the best e-liquid I’d ever tried. So when I met the guys at
e-liquid by DTV I was skeptical about what their product was and you know I tried it, and I was
thoroughly impressed with it, the customer service that they offered, the quality of product that
they offered. And I started like selling it out of my trunk which was big because like nobody
was really selling it around here, there was not too many shops. So I got it on the ground floor
then they asked me if I could come open the brick and mortar with them, so I put a lot of
hours in here getting this place ready and then took over the lab and uh started making my
own creations and taking care of all of the liquid production. Yeah, and I quit my other jobs to
come here so I love it.
