Presented at the American Physiology Society Communications Symposium at the 2012 Experimental Biology meeting in San Diego, California. Social media can be used to chronicle and share research, teaching, and outreach experiences with others in your field and with the general public. As a result it can be a very important career building tool to professional scientists.
