David Cal is a Spanish Olympic athlete who competes in canoeing. He has won one gold medal and four silver medals across three Olympic Games (2004, 2008, 2012). He holds the record as the Spanish athlete with the most Olympic medals in canoeing, having earned his fifth medal, a silver, in the 2012 London Olympics in the 1000 meter C1 event. Cal began competing nationally for his club in Galicia, Spain at age 14 and has had success in both the Olympics and other global and European competitions.
