form") is a term applied to
practices or documents that are
done as a pure formality,
perfunctory, or seek to satisfy the
minimum requirements or to
conform to a convention or
doctrine.

Return on Investment - ROI



A performance measure used to evaluate the
efficiency of an investment or to compare the
efficiency of a number of different
investments. To calculate ROI, the benefit
(return) of an investment is divided by the
cost of the investment; the result is expressed
as a percentage or a ratio.

RevPAR/Per Cap

RevPAR, or revenue per available room, is an
important metric relevant to the hotel
industry. Often it is utilized as a primary
statistic indicating the overall financial
performance of a property. Related to Per
Cap.
An often used short cut to estimate RevPAR is
to multiply Occupancy % times Average Daily
Rate (ADR).
So, RevPAR (estimated) = Occ% * ADR.

Capital Expenditure


Capital expenditures (CAPEX or capex) are
expenditures creating future benefits. A
capital expenditure is incurred when a
business spends money either to buy fixed
assets or to add to the value of an existing
fixed asset with a useful life that extends
beyond the taxable year.

Analysis
A failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)
is a procedure in product development and
operations management for analysis of
potential failure modes within a system for
classification by the severity and likelihood of
the failures.

Mean Time Between Failures
Mean time between failures (MTBF) is the
predicted elapsed time between inherent
failures of a system during operation. MTBF
can be calculated as the arithmetic mean
(average) time between failures of a system.

MTTR


Mean Time To Repair
Mean time to repair (MTTR) is a basic
measure of the maintainability of repairable
items. It represents the average time
required to repair a failed component or
device.

ASTM F24

ASTM Committee F24 on Amusement Rides
and Devices was formed in 1978.
F24 meets twice a year, usually in February
and October, with approximately 100
members from around the world attending
two or three days of technical meetings.
The Committee, with current membership of
approximately 500 members, currently has
jurisdiction of 17 standards, published in the
Annual Book of ASTM Standards.
