As DNO’s Health and Safety Adviser for a Production Facility in Kurdistan, I was responsible for:
• Developing, implementing and managing the Company Permit To Work system affording greater control
and oversight for both brown and green field operations.
• SIMOPS and complex isolation management training with oversight of safety during refinery shutdowns.
• Interpretation of P&IDs, PFDs and Mass Balance Data sheets to assess magnitude and extent of risk during
complex isolations and shutdowns.
• Conducting Safety Tours / Surveys and Sampling with the Field Superintendents at the site on a weekly
basis, ensuring construction, civil works and commissioning work was done as safely as possible.
• Monitoring the currently implemented Behavioural Based Safety System.
• Organised and led internal safety audits.
• Attended Kick Off meetings with new contractors to discuss their Safety needs and concerns.
• Chaired Bi-Monthly HSE Meetings with all Senior Managers.
• Developed and monitored company Health and Safety Management Key Performance Indicators.
