WILDLIFE

Existing within a concrete jungle hardly ascertains the fact that
India has the second largest wildlife base in the world. Here in
the environs of the tropical forests of the Ghats, the Deccan
Peninsula, the Gangetic plain, the North Eastern Region and the
evergreen slopes of the Himalayas house an ample variety of
wild animals: tigers, snow leopards, elephants, antelopes, deer,
black bucks, bears, jackals, hyenas, wild buffalos etc.
Come and enjoy the cinematic exhibition during your sojourn in
the wilds. The highlights of these safaris are gripping jeep safaris,
treks, bird watching, wild life movies, photography workshops
and music renting the evening air around a bonfire.
You have our full support to shoot tiger at the well known
Manas, Ranthambore, Bandhavgarh and Kanha national parks,
the one-horned rhinocerous in the Kaziranga reserves or the
nearly extinct white lion at the Sasangir Sanctuary but through
the camera lens alone!

                                                                        7
ADVENTURE

For those who want to break free from their otherwise mundane
life routine, we offer a series of adventure holidays: short
weekend stimulation or longer period of adventurous activity.
The Himalayan ranges intimidate and enthrall you into a state
of stunned silence. These majestic mountains have quite a few
spectacular pursuits to offer an adventurer, be it mountaineering,
rock climbing, trekking or river rafting.
Breathe in nature in the raw on a camel safari or in a jungle.
Paragliding exudes an inexplicable sense of thrill for those who
reach out to experience new heights. Gliding down a ski slope,
water rafting down cascading streams pushes the adrenalin levels
of people who dare. Windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving bring in a
sense of fulfillment for water babies.
Holiday camps help you to connect and appreciate the bounty
of nature.
There is always something for everyone - those who dare, the
nature lovers, the scenic seekers and the bold adventurers.

                                                                     9
PILGRIM

India since ancient times has earned the celebrated linkage with
salvation and rebirth, astrology and holistic healing sought in
the temples or monasteries, where saints and sages abound in
the corridors of these hallowed places. The walls of these holy
places reverberate with the tinkling sounds of the bells and the
resonant chants fill the air……
Cox and Kings offers an assortment of packages suited to
rejuvenate mental and spiritual faculties of a pilgrim.
Whatever your beliefs, creed, class or caste, our pilgrim tours
cut across all barriers.
Come participate in our tours across the length and breadth
of India - Vaishnodevi, Haridwar, Rishikesh or Char Dham in
the North, the Navgraha temples or Rameshwaram, Tirupati or
Puttaparthi in the South, the temples of Puri in the East, the
Dilwara temples or the temples in Palitana and the renowned
resting seat of Shri Sai Baba in Shirdi in the West. An aura
of inner peace and calmness will surely engulf you on our
pilgrim tours.

                                                                   11

Yoga, and meditation are the key features that India offers for
purging the mind and body of toxins.

fructify your lifespan.

EAST INDIA The spiraling mists at Darjeeling and Sikkim rise upwards to reveal
the Kanchenjunga in different aspects each new day. In like manner,
one is enthused in a spirit of rediscovering the East. On one hand,
there’s the vivacity in Kolkata - the land of Rabindranath Tagore,
Satyajit Ray and Mother Teresa, presided over by the immense
Victoria Memorial in white marble and on the other hand, there’s
the golden triangle of temple towns: Bhubaneshwar - temple city
of India, Puri – home of Lord Jagannath, and also a popular beach
resort and Konark where you can join the spectacular Rath Yatra
or gaze spell-bound at the stupendous Sun Temple of Konark rising
amidst the sand dunes from the blue waters of the bay. Fall in
love with orchid-bedecked Sikkim - the land that time forgot. See
the Buddhist prayer flags fluttering in the breeze at the Buddhist
Monasteries, such as Pemayangtse - an oasis of serenity and a
repository of centuries-old wisdom and scriptures, surrounded by
mountains and glaciers and passes, where time stands absolutely
still. Sample the cheese in Kalimpong, a quaint bazaar town set in
rolling foothills and deep valleys at the foot of the mighty Himalayas.
Drink in Assam - as famous for its tea, as for its wildlife reserves -
tigers at Manas and the one-horned rhinoceros at Kaziranga. Or
holiday in Shillong, “the Scotland of the East” an ideal holiday resort
through the year. Truly every day in East India is a new discovery.

East-India Tour Bharat Deko Packages by Cox and Kings

  • 2.
  • 3. Dear friends, Welcome to sojourning with the Best Domestic Tour Operator in India. We are proud recipients of this title and award from Abacus TAFI TravelBiz Monitor Award in 2009. The completion of 250 years of Cox and Kings is a major milestone for us and we invite you to partake in this celebration. We present an extensive range of holidays – be it traversing into the mountains in their pristine glory, trekking sites and reliving history, relaxing on palm fringed beaches, spending quality time in leisure along the back waters or allowing the mind to recreate the past glories of our rich heritage within the luxurious comfort afforded in palace hotels and resorts. Now is the time to commence packing your traveling gear and joining us in our celebration. Shefali Singh Head - Bharat Deko Krsna Mehta is a trained surface designer from Parsons. He has won four Elle Décor Design Awards and is recently known for his work with Zeba, Godrej and Good Earth. Sujan Das is a research scholar at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research who writes poetry at leisure and painting being one of his hobbies. In the cover design they try to encapsulate the essence of India in the form of a collage of paintings depicting various elements from across the country. • 7.
  • 8. WILDLIFE Existing within a concrete jungle hardly ascertains the fact that India has the second largest wildlife base in the world. Here in the environs of the tropical forests of the Ghats, the Deccan Peninsula, the Gangetic plain, the North Eastern Region and the evergreen slopes of the Himalayas house an ample variety of wild animals: tigers, snow leopards, elephants, antelopes, deer, black bucks, bears, jackals, hyenas, wild buffalos etc. Come and enjoy the cinematic exhibition during your sojourn in the wilds. The highlights of these safaris are gripping jeep safaris, treks, bird watching, wild life movies, photography workshops and music renting the evening air around a bonfire. You have our full support to shoot tiger at the well known Manas, Ranthambore, Bandhavgarh and Kanha national parks, the one-horned rhinocerous in the Kaziranga reserves or the nearly extinct white lion at the Sasangir Sanctuary but through the camera lens alone! 7
  • 9.
  • 10. ADVENTURE For those who want to break free from their otherwise mundane life routine, we offer a series of adventure holidays: short weekend stimulation or longer period of adventurous activity. The Himalayan ranges intimidate and enthrall you into a state of stunned silence. These majestic mountains have quite a few spectacular pursuits to offer an adventurer, be it mountaineering, rock climbing, trekking or river rafting. Breathe in nature in the raw on a camel safari or in a jungle. Paragliding exudes an inexplicable sense of thrill for those who reach out to experience new heights. Gliding down a ski slope, water rafting down cascading streams pushes the adrenalin levels of people who dare. Windsurfing, sailing, scuba diving bring in a sense of fulfillment for water babies. Holiday camps help you to connect and appreciate the bounty of nature. There is always something for everyone - those who dare, the nature lovers, the scenic seekers and the bold adventurers. 9

  • 12. PILGRIM India since ancient times has earned the celebrated linkage with salvation and rebirth, astrology and holistic healing sought in the temples or monasteries, where saints and sages abound in the corridors of these hallowed places. The walls of these holy places reverberate with the tinkling sounds of the bells and the resonant chants fill the air…… Cox and Kings offers an assortment of packages suited to rejuvenate mental and spiritual faculties of a pilgrim. Whatever your beliefs, creed, class or caste, our pilgrim tours cut across all barriers. Come participate in our tours across the length and breadth of India - Vaishnodevi, Haridwar, Rishikesh or Char Dham in the North, the Navgraha temples or Rameshwaram, Tirupati or Puttaparthi in the South, the temples of Puri in the East, the Dilwara temples or the temples in Palitana and the renowned resting seat of Shri Sai Baba in Shirdi in the West. An aura of inner peace and calmness will surely engulf you on our pilgrim tours. 11

  • 14. WELLNESS Health, as it is stated most aptly, is wealth beyond measure. The stress that runs high levels by the hour, day or year can bog down an otherwise carefree individual . India is renowned for its ancient but nevertheless natural medicine and techniques to distress and detoxify. Ayurveda, Yoga, and meditation are the key features that India offers for purging the mind and body of toxins. On our wellness tours, a course of simple exercises to tone the system and cure minor ailments is readily available. Rejuvenate within the environs of the flora and the fauna and energise yourself. The focus is on hikes, walks, organic food, spirituality, meditation, yoga and natural therapy. Special rejuvenation programs at most places include body purification, slimming, and stress management. Beauty care programs such as special rejuvenation massages, fruit or herbal oil massages and medicated steam baths are also available to our clients. Pamper yourself to the hilt and avail of this opportunity to fructify your lifespan. 13
  • 15.
  • 16. CONFERENCES Breaking away from the monotonous confines of the walls of an office, is indeed a definite way to stimulate and energize employees. An exposure to our land’s rich and varied heritage in art and architecture and craftsmanship in different mediums goes along with the effectual healing touch of many a scenic landscape. Let Cox and Kings organize your meetings, incentives and training programs, conferences, conventions and exhibitions taking care of all your requisites. We assure you that all amenities and conveniences will be made available. Fun and relaxation will go hand in hand to allow work objectives to reach a maximum level. We could work together to plan your conference followed by pre and post tours allowing you to visit India. 15
  • 17.
  • 18. In like manner, one is enthused in a spirit of rediscovering the East. On one hand, there’s the vivacity in Kolkata - the land of Rabindranath Tagore, Satyajit Ray and Mother Teresa, presided over by the immense Victoria Memorial in white marble and on the other hand, there’s the golden triangle of temple towns: Bhubaneshwar - temple city of India, Puri – home of Lord Jagannath, and also a popular beach resort and Konark where you can join the spectacular Rath Yatra or gaze spell-bound at the stupendous Sun Temple of Konark rising amidst the sand dunes from the blue waters of the bay. Fall in love with orchid-bedecked Sikkim - the land that time forgot. See the Buddhist prayer flags fluttering in the breeze at the Buddhist Monasteries, such as Pemayangtse - an oasis of serenity and a repository of centuries-old wisdom and scriptures, surrounded by mountains and glaciers and passes, where time stands absolutely still. Sample the cheese in Kalimpong, a quaint bazaar town set in rolling foothills and deep valleys at the foot of the mighty Himalayas. Drink in Assam - as famous for its tea, as for its wildlife reserves - tigers at Manas and the one-horned rhinoceros at Kaziranga. Or holiday in Shillong, “the Scotland of the East” an ideal holiday resort through the year. Truly every day in East India is a new discovery.
