I. Executive Summary
Progressive Movement is a social tool based application that provides those who are physically and mentally
handicapped with the means of for being social in a productive environment. Progressive Movement, being
electronically based, will take the place of the usual texting and phone applications. This will allow the user to gain
social and real world skills without being judged for their issues. This tool will give the user “Fake” contacts for the
user to talk too. We provide the downloader with five fake visual contacts to start with which and these can be
named by that individual. Additional contacts will be other Progressive Movement users for the person to
socialize/interact with. This will increase their social skills and will eventually aid them in having other
conversations/interactions with other people. Because Progressive Movement connects you with other people's
Progressive Movement users gain a sense of real world friendship and conversational skills, and because the users
are signed up by parents and or guardians the user site is safe for the users and free from possible harm. From this
point on Progressive Movement users will also be introduced with an AI system which will provide a fun and
educational way to learn by providing custom made lesson plans for people with disabilities. These lesson plans can
be monitored from the parents own account on their own electronic devices. This will include the ability to look at
all of the child's conversations and interactions on the application. This will provide a necessary sense of security for
the parents. The product itself will be divided into two main categories of function. The first being the educational
aspect that was discussed above. The second part being a three step social process in which the users 9will make
friends in a texting/conversational manner. The second step in the three step process being an actual phone
conversation with the user they have been in contact with. With the final step being an eventually face to face video
conference with that user you have been in contact with. This will lead to better conversational skills in person.
Progressive Movement has essentially done its job by getting you to that point where you can eventually have an in
person face to face conversation at some point down the road. For concerned parents that believe their child is not
happy with the conversations they are having the conversation can be blocked or ended by the user or the parents
themselves. This may also help with getting into social situations by making them seem more social than they are
now. The purchasing of this product is simple for it can be found on any application center like google play and the
apple app store. Progressive Movement can be purchased for $250 plus an additional $20 grade level fee.
2
II.Problem
Progressive Movement addresses many issues:
1. Disabled people today have a hard time communicating and creating friendships with
other people. By using Progressive Movement the children using it will learn from an
early age and will develop social/conversational skills to help them later in life. Many
individuals with disabilities interact primarily with their family, the people who take care
of or provide services to them, and others in the programs in which they participate.
These relationships can clearly be significant and should be encouraged. However,
outside of family members, people may have no freely given and chosen relationships.
Generally, many people with disabilities face certain disadvantages in meeting and
getting to know others.
2. This product also provides a fun educational learning plan that will further children's
social and cognitive skills, eventually leading to self confidence in future social
situations. People who use this product will be satisfied that it is a fun way to learn. There
are too many programs out there that don’t have the fun emphasis behind it. This is a
more fun and engaging way for people to learn.
3. Progressive Movement provides friendship to the growing populous of handicapped
people. Progressive Movement also provides a sense of friendship and happiness and the
ability to make friends and connect with who may or may not be disabled.
4. There are many schools out there specifically for the mentally disabled. Some of these
programs don’t have the necessary tools to give a child a sense of success. Progressive
Movement provides all of that.
3
III.Customer Segmentation:
Progressive Movement reaches out to a large group of people who have a disabilities.
Progressive Movement is geared towards users in the age group of 5 to 13 years olds who are
“socially awkward” in seeking friendship. Progressive Movement is geared to both genders. Like
we said earlier the typical age range for our product is 5 to 13 years old, meaning that students
from kindergarten through 8th grade can use this program. The price of the program is $250 and
each grade level program is another $20 charge. Overall our product is $270 so our product is
affordable for mostly everyone. Our customers will be able to buy this product from all over the
world. We have different language settings within our program. At Progressive Movement we
tend to target parents. The parents are the ones buying the product in the first place so we want to
sell to them. Parents who have a average and even lower income should still be able to afford our
product. We sell to parents who want to help their mentally disabled child continue to grow and
mature to their full potential through our program we have in place.
4
IV.Values:
We at Progressive Movement are looking to provide a social/learning opportunity for the
disabled to learn valuable real world skills. Our attitude towards special needs children is our
number one priority. We believe every child should have the same opportunities as any other
child no matter what their situations are like. Rather that is being mentally handicapped or not
every child should be treated and have the same opportunities as anyone else. We want mentally
disabled people to learn how to start communicating with others at a very young age. Even if
they do not we still have a program for 8th graders looking to catch up. Through our program we
believe that these children we be able to possibly hold down a job at some point. We believe
nothing is impossible for these kids and the only thing stopping themselves from big
opportunities and reaching their true potential is no action being taken. We know it is hard for
any family with a child who is mentally disabled but taking no action is the worst action. We
know the child will grow with the system we have in place. We believe that disability is an
aspect of diversity that is integral to our society. As you can see from our logo we support all
mental disabilities. Our most popular customers include those with Autism, Down Syndrome,
ADHD/OCD, and those that are lost or having troubles finding themselves like depression.
5
V.Solution:
- The ability to gain real world skills
- Custom learning plans
- The ability to connect with other disabled people
-We solve the issue of being unprepared for life ahead
-Prepare for future goals
-Practice with real life social skills
-According to the National Institute of Mental Health, neglect of Americans with serious mental
illness costs the nation $444 billion a year. We help the people who are neglected.
-Opportunities
-We are changing the system, trying new things that are proven to help
6
Conclusion:
In conclusion, Progressive Movement is a solution to the ever growing population of disabled
Americans and those in other countries, it provides a safe environment for special needs children
to meet/learn valuable skills which will stay with them forever. Throughout our program are set
plans that the parents will select. The disability of that person and their age/grade level will then
determine their program. It is our job at Progressive Movement to make sure every person has
the tools they need to feel more comfortable in life. Weather that is meeting someone face to face
or just in everyday conversation via text, email, phone conversation, etc. We want our customers
to succeed as it is our number one goal.
