9. Health Minister Deb Matthews said the Ontario government is looking at
introducing a co-payment system, tied to a senior’s income, for those in
need of help with such things as bathing, household tasks and
transportation to medical appointments. Jan. 08 2013

10. iCare Awareness and Community Relations
! iCare has an active Social Media presence on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter
in line with its community focus plan.
! iCare launched the Home Care industry First Reward Program in partnership
with AIR MILES
! iCare’s “give back where we serve” strategy is to support all four hospital
foundations in its operating region.
! iCare is a member of:
• Ontario Home Care Association (OHCA)
• Veterans Independence Program (VIP)
• Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT), Oakville and Burlington and Oakville
Chamber of Commerce.
! iCare supports community events such as Burlington Sound of Music,
Oakville Midnight Madness and Mississauga Southside Shuffle Blues & Jazz
Festival.
! iCare meets regularly with medical practitioners to promote its services and
build a referral network.
! iCare sponsors hospital staff Lunch & Learns provided by Clinical Educator,
Trillium Health Partners (Peel Region) and Halton Healthcare (Halton
Region)
