Cloud Made in Germany
@CloudOps Summit 2011
T. Uhl
2. Was ist die Deutsche Wolke?
● Initiative zum Aufbau einer föderalen Cloud-
Infrastruktur in Deutschland
● Verbund zahlreicher deutscher Organisationen:
‒ Kooperation von am Markt langjährig agierenden
mittelständischer Unternehmen
‒ Innovative Kombination aus eingeführten Produkten
‒ Netzwerkprojekt der Lisog
3. Was machen wir?
● Bereits 2010 sprach sich René Obermann
(Vorsitzen-der der Telekom) bei BITKOM für
eine "Cloud Made in Germany" aus und
plädierte für einheitliche und offene
Schnittstellen bzw. Standards.
● Die Initiative DEUTSCHE WOLKE setzt die
Vision "Cloud Made in Germany" um: Mit
offenen Standards und Schnittstellen, höchster
Verfügbarkeit und vor allen Dingen mit den
geltenden, strengen Datenschutzrichtlinien.
4. Was machen wir?
● Fullservice für Unternehmen
● Selbstbestimmung des Administrationsgrades
● Qualifizierte Hilfestellung zur Nutzung von
Cloud-Services
● Lösungsorientierte Zusammenarbeit für
bestmögliche Kundenzufriedenheit
● Offenen Standards und Schnittstellen
● Umsetzung der geltenden, strengen
Datenschutzrichtlinie
5. Transparent statt Nebulös
● 100% Standort Deutschland
● 100% High-End Rechenzentren
● 100% OpenSource basierte Software
● 100% Deutsche Firmen und Ansprechpartner
● 100% Deutsche Administration
● 100% Deutscher Rechtsraum
7. Wer ist die Lisog?
● Gründung im März 2005
‒ ca. 120 Mitglieder:
● Anbieter (Hersteller und Dienstleister)
‒ Anwender
‒ Wissenschaftliche Partner
● Kontaktbüros in DACH und Nordamerika
‒ (Berlin, Hamburg, Wien, Zürich, Palo Alto, Toronto)
● Primäre Ziele:
‒ Business Development für OSS Lösungen
‒ Verbesserung der Interoperabilität (OSS / prop. SW)
‒ Schaffung eines kompletten OSS Lösungsstacks
● „Cloud-Edition“ des Lösungsstacks
8. Vendor Lock-In
In economics, vendor lock-in, also known as
Proprietary lock-in, or customer lock-in, makes
a customer dependent on a vendor for
products and services, unable to use another
vendor without substantial switching costs.
Lock-in costs which create barriers to market
entry may result in antitrust action against
a monopoly.
(Wikipedia)
9. Open Cloud Initiative (OCI)
● Initiiert von Sam Johnston (http://samj.net/)
● Reaktion auf „OpenCloud Manifesto“
● Ziel der Initiative: „To define and protect 'Open Cloud'“
‒ Exakte Definitionen für
OpenAPIs, OpenFormats, OpenStandards, OpenData
‒ Klassifikation einer Cloud nach Grad der Offenheit
‒ Fokus auf OpenCloud und OpenSourceCloud
10. Open Standards
● Copyrights: The standard must be documented in all its
details, published and both accessible and [re]usable free of
charge.
● Patents: Any patents possibly present on [parts of] the standard
must be irrevocably made available on a royalty-free basis.
● Trademarks: Any trademarks possibly present on identifier(s)
must be used for non-discriminatory enforcement of compliance
only.
● Implementations: There must be multiple full, faithful and
interoperable implementations (for both client and server where
applicable) and at least one such implementation must be
licensed under an Open Source Initiative (OSI) Approved
license [http://www.opensource.org/licenses] or placed into the
public domain.
11. Lisog OSS Stack
● Aufbau eines kompletten Lösungsstack auf OSS-Basis:
‒ Gewinnung neuer Komponenten-Anbieter
‒ Integration zwischen den einzelnen Komponenten
‒ Sicherung der Qualität und Interoperabilität
‒ Sicherung der Support Kette
● Verhinderung von Vendor Lock-Ins durch OSS-Komponenten
● Kanalisierung von Benutzer-Anforderungen:
● Feature-Requests
‒ Integrationsanforderungen
‒ Ergänzender Support durch Berater Netzwerk
● Integration von Hardware-Partnern
● Integration von Finanzierungs-Partnern
