2. It began with the appearance
of the first human beings ,
several million years ago .
It lasted until the invention
of writing about 5.ooo years
ago.
The Prehistory is divided in
two periods the Palaeolithic
and the Neolithic .

3. The paleolithic.
 The paleolithic was the longest
period of history. It started with the
appearance of the first human beings
, and ended about 10.000 years bc ,
with the discovery of farming.
 During this period human beings were
nomads : they went from place to place
looking for food . They hunted , fished
and collected wild fruits and plants .
 They lived in small groups of 20 or
30 people . They lived in caves or
made simple shelters with branches
and animal skins .
 They made fire , simple tools with
stones , bones and wood and dressed
in animal skins . They drew pictures
on the walls of caves .

4. The neolithic
 The neolithic started about 10.000BC ,
with the discovery of farming , and
ended about 3.000 BC with the
invention of the writing.
 During this period human beings
became sedentary . Because of farming
they did not have to look for food .
 Formed villages with many
inhabitants .
 They made pottery to store food ,
new tools , like the plough , to help in
farming and fabrics to make clothes.
 Built monuments called megaliths with
big stones. They learnt to work with
metals like copper and bronce.
