Get checked out, your eyes that is at annual US Open of Surfing at Huntington Beach sponsored by Sunglass
Hut
July 30th-August 7th HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA- Sunglass Hut will be behind the Get Checked
Out Project at the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach. This event will feature two booths setup during all
the events of the US Open of Surfing, one on Main Street and one on the Huntington Beach Pier. Sunglass Hut
will be providing certified optometrists giving free eye exams and informing people of the harmful effects of
polarization and demonstrating how sunglasses can help prevent the damage that glare causes to the eye.
Many people think sunglasses are just for style and overpriced. These optometrists want to show the
importance of wearing polarized lenses. Anyone who participates in a free exam will be automatically entered
in a raffle to win a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, which have top of the line polarization and retail for $300.
Here are some benefits of wearing polarized.
• Reduces eyestrain, greater comfort
• Improves visual acuity, provides safety
• Eyes feel rested
• Realistic perception
• Reduces reflections and enhances visual clarity
• Certain lens materials can be darkened and provides limitless color options
These are just to name a few, a local doctor quoted
“Even joggers and in-line skaters have chosen to wear these helpful fashion accessories. They simply make it
much easier and safer to enjoy the outdoors. They accomplish this task by blocking out the light that gets re-
flected from flat surfaces like a road or a body of water. This light is usually horizontally polarized (commonly
known as glare), and it typically causes us to squint, close our eyes, or look away. The filter contained within
polarized lenses eliminates this need and allows the wearer to concentrate on their activity, which means more
enjoyment and less worry. Polarized lenses can actually help you avoid accidents and injuries as you go about
your daily business.”
