Video Content for Business can be a
goldmine of excellent marketing material.
Not only for the initial video content itself,
but as the beginning of a content breakdown
that can be spread across your network.
In this Video Content for Business introduction we will look at:
•A single uploaded piece of online video content
and how it can be repurposed for:
•How the content can be modified and best
practice on each site.
This slideshare serves as an introduction – we will be separating and
focusing on each individual network in the next few weeks.
One key note on video content strategy is the necessity
to plan ahead. If you’re a SME reading this and have a
piece of video content in mind, a cohesive content
strategy will make your content go a lot further.
Right from the initial concept, have the dispersal of video
content in mind. It is easy to plan forwards and very
difficult to instigate change backwards.
A flowchart of content strategy is an excellent way to
visualise the spread.

Plan Ahead
•Upload your video to YouTube – again, planning ahead will avoid
those common formatting errors that often crop up at this point.
•Make sure you carefully SEO your title and description – plan your
keywords and SEO ahead of time and stick to it.
•Provide a Url back to your website/product/service.
•If you have them at this point, input links to the other video content
in thespread (here’s an example of this link strategy). If not, I’d
suggest a mass edit at the end of the content spread to interlink all
the different sites.
•One of two options: 1) Upload your own... or 2) Link from Youtube.
•This article goes over some of the “uploading or linking” SEO:
http://www.reelseo.com/viral-reach-engagement-facebook-youtube/.
To cut a long story short, they are better for different things...
if possible you should link AND upload. Another point to consider
is whether Facebook, in the long run, will give added search weight
to their own hosted videos or those of a competitor. Probably self
hosted. Just saying...
•Remember to prioritise and front-load your SEO keywords inFacebook.
The Search Engine drop offs are very tight for the first 20 or so
characters, so instead of "Hey everyone, here's the new Analytics Video
from us!" it should be"Analytics Video: New Content from us!".
•Pin your video content onto video-only boards, but also mix it into
other boards.
•Group boards can be your friend here, but be careful getting
swamped on the huge group boards. Do your research!
•Remember to link back in your descriptions - Pinterest Videos
need to act like fishhooks.
•PinterestVideo is still evolving. It has taken a back seat on a site
which is necessarily dedicated to images. It's a good place to try out
new ideas, ways to fit together videos on the site, or different types
of content.
•Slideshare is the playground of the prepared. A recent blog of ours
on Youtube to Slideshare will answer a few questions about how to
effectively slice up your Youtube idea into Slideshare material.
•Youtubeand Slideshare incorporate very well together. there is a
wealth of options and strategies that have only begun to show
themselves. If you only link one additional content channel to your
video content, I'd suggest Slideshare.

Psst – that’s you!
•Twitter's answer to video is brash and at only 6 seconds a video,
time is tight.
•It's a much more viral turnover - here's a few interesting ideas on
Vine for Business.
•Vine is a natural area to breakdown video content into small
components. If you have quotes or statistics, these make excellent
start points for a Vine. Use a scrabble board, with pen, on a
whiteboard etc.
