The most common problem is the problem of a failed back surgery. It occurs after having a back surgery.
Recurrence of pain post the surgery will lead to the feedback that the surgery undertaken is failed.

problems.

presentation, a MRI scan is also useful in distinguishing the two pathologies.

operations. Also inadequate surgical coverage can be one of the causes of the problems.
There are studies relating to smoking that state that regular use of cigarettes results into a failed spinal surgery.
The probable reason behind the failure is the presence of nicotine. Nicotine interferes with the metabolism of
bones and through induced calcitonin resistance and decreased osteoblastic function it interferes with the body’s
functions. A surge in the amount of scars may happen that may further lead to the blockage in blood vessels.
However, if cigarette smoking is ceased in the post-operative period, there is no problem with the back surgery.
Also use of smoke is largely associated with back pain.
Perhaps more and more studies suggest other causes of the problem like poor health and psychological factors.
Doctors are required to inform the patient about the real cause of the problem as the surgeon is required to work
on the real anatomic structure as it is vital for them to work on the exact origin of the pain. The real reason behind
the problem is disc bulges at varied spinal levels. If the spinal levels operated are more than one then adjacent
segment degeneration is resulted. This may happen because the fused segments lead to a surge in torsional
forces getting transmitted to the intervertebral discs present above and below the fused vertebrae.
The failed back surgery has many recommended neuropathic treatments that are prescribed by surgeons. All
patients suffering from the problem are required to undergo the same for effective pain management.
