mathematician Hans Breiter from Northwestern
University Feinberg School of Medicine and
published in the Journal of Neuroscience,
analyzed the correlation between casual
marijuana use and structural changes in the
brain.
The conclusion: that even casual use among
young adults was enough to cause significant
brain abnormalities in two important brain
structures.”

11. “The amygdala and the nucleus accumbens were
the parts of the brain where the abnormalities
were most prevalent. These two regions of the
brain are responsible for processing emotions,
making decisions and motivation.
Damage to these parts of the brain often yield
some types of mental illness such as anxiety
disorders, paranoia, bi-polar condition and
depression, and Breiter argues that this is the
part of the brain that, “you do not want to mess
with.”

Kevin Ward, Jr.
A grand jury in upstate New York declined to charge
Tony Stewart on Wednesday for his role in the on-track
death of sprint car driver Kevin Ward Jr.

three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion, struck and killed
him during a dirt-track race at Canandaigua Motorsports
Park. The 20-year-old Ward had exited his car after a crash
and walked toward Stewart's moving car on the track. Ward
died of blunt force trauma.

the evidence and could have brought charges or dropped the
case himself, but he said last week that the matter would be
decided by the grand jury.
This is a strong testimony for the Florida voters on the
impact of judgment by someone under the influence of
Marihuana.

25. VOTE ON MARIJUANA
Former Florida Supreme Court justices are
calling on all Floridians to protect the
Florida’s Constitution by voting
on Amendment 2.
They are offering 5 reasons to
vote on Amendment 2:
25
26. “First, the amendment is so broadly
cast and vague, it will open the door
to the general use of marijuana, not
to carefully regulated medical use of
a drug for those truly suffering.”
Voters don’t have the time to read the
full text of the amendment of its
impact and are mislead on election
day.

27. “Second, Amendment 2 endangers
Floridians by granting broad immunity
from criminal and civil liability to
virtually everyone involved in the
chain of custody of marijuana.”

28. “Third, Amendment 2, creates a right
to use marijuana coupled with the
right of privacy for medical marijuana
users, without regard to age.”
“This could be construed to allow
minors to obtain marijuana for
purported medical reasons without
the knowledge or consent of their
parents.

29. “Fourth, Amendment 2 creates a role of
medical marijuana “caregiver.” “There is
only one requirement to be a caregiver – be
at least 21.”
“Amendment 2 requires no medical
expertise, training or background checks for
caregivers, who would have authority to
provide marijuana to multiple individuals.
This caregiver provision could be used as a
legal shield to protect drug dealers from
prosecution.”
This information appeared in the Miami Herald, Thursday, September 11, 2014 29
30. Fourth, Continuation
“Florida Department of Health estimates
that if the Amendment 2 passes, there will
be approximately 250,000 caregivers and
nearly 180,000 pot shops that would
dispense marijuana in the State of Florida.”
“This calls into questions the state’s ability
to adequately regulate the distribution of
marijuana, since it would not be obtained
from traditional pharmacies, but from shops
run by the marijuana industry.”
30
This information appeared in the Miami Herald, Thursday, September 11, 2014
31. “Fifth, if Amendment 2 is approved, it
would be almost impossible to fix its many
flaws because it would be enshrined in the
Constitution, rather than being a general
law that can be changed or improved as
needed to respond to inevitable
problems.”
