3. Mission statement The Soleful Five is a dedicated group of five students who want to make an impact on our surrounding community by promoting recycling awareness, education, and sustainability. Through our combined effort in launching a “Soles 4 Souls” shoe recycling drive, we hope to show that a small group of students can make a big difference in people’s lives around the world.
4. Team Goals Team Goal: Our goal as a team is to have a successful recycling campaign during America Recycles Week in order to raise awareness about "wasting" effectively and to incite a feeling of philanthropy in the community. As a group, and through collaboration with Soles 4 Souls and our community coordinator, we aim to use our diversified skills and attributes to plan and implement a shoe drive to collect gently worn shoes to be distributed to those in need around the world. Our goal is to also get students at New Bedford High School involved by not only donating, but advertising for such cause. Throughout this experience we hope to meet our project goals while maintaining group cohesion and professionalism amongst group members. Milestones to Reach: Recylce 500 pairs of shoes to "Soles 4 Souls“ Raise money to cover the shipping costs Use TV media to reach surrounding town and communities. Get NBHS students involved in our project Obtain seven collection boxes to distribute around campus and New Bedford High School
