Overall, we are (read each bullet point)
The World Bank has adjusted its ranking of Thailand from 15 in 2007 to that of 13 out of 181 countries for the year 2008.
A survey on the outlook for Japanese FDI by the Japan Bank of International Cooperation found that Thailand ranked #4 in the medium term and #6 in the long term, showing that Thailand continues to be a promising base for overseas business operation.
The WEF’s report was put together by the Executive Opinion Survey, gathered from interviews with 11,000 business leaders from 125 different countries.
Of the Japanese companies surveyed in JBIC’s latest annual survey on overseas operations, Thailand remained the most desired nation within ASEAN for Japanese investment both overall, and specifically in E&E and automotives.
As you can see, Thailand is among the leading auto producers in Asia.
This shows the figure of export-import value and trade balance. Thai automotive export value in 2007 is increased 11.86% and import value is decreased 3.33%, so, the export value of Thai automotive industry is surplus more 300,000 Million Baht or about 7,500 million US dollar.
The CBU export by region in 2006 last year is total 588,962 units. The export market of One-ton pick ups is Middle East, Oceania and Europe. And the export market of Passenger Car is Asia and Oceania.
Thailand aims to manufacture 2 million auto units within the year 2010, which should rank the country as one of the world’s top ten producing countries. Here you can see the forecasts for total production, domestic sales and exports in 2010.
