3. Keynote Speaker
Dan Zarrella is the award-winning social media scientist
at HubSpot and author of three books. He has a
background in web development and combines his
programming capabilities with a passion for social
marketing to study social media behavior from a data-
backed position and teach marketers scientifically
grounded best practices. Webinars in his “Science of…”
series have drawn upwards of 30,000 registrants. His
Science of ReTweets Report analyzes the when, why
and how Twitter users ReTweet things, and explains
how marketers can effectively get more ReTweets.

Dylan Schmorrow is a Captain in the US Navy
Medical Service Corps, and serves as the Acting
Director of the Human Performance, Training, and
BioSystems Research Directorate at the Office of
the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Research &
Engineering (ASD(R&E)) at Office of the Secretary
of Defense. He is also Specialty Leader of the
Aerospace Experimental Psychologist community
and an Acquisition Professional in the Naval
Acquisition Corps. He has previously served as the
Executive Assistant to the Chief of Naval Research
at the Office of Naval Research.

Ian Hersey, in his role as Chief Product Officer for
inTTENSITY, brings 25 years of experience delivering
innovative research technology into the commercial
mainstream. He is responsible for providing the
technical and strategic product vision for InTTENSITY's
solutions. Prior to InTTENSITY/Attensity, Ian was vice
president of technology development and strategy at
SAP BusinessObjects, via its acquisition of Inxight
Software. As co-founder of Inxight, Ian led the definition
and development of what became the industry’s
broadest text analysis platform, serving many
commercial and government organizations.

Dr. Nahum D. Gershon is a Senior Principal Scientist at
The MITRE Corporation. A world renown expert and
innovator in information visualization of massive &
complex data and information, Gershon
originated the idea and co-founded the IEEE Symposium
on Information Visualization and served a Proceedings
Editor as well as chaired the Program Committee. He
has chaired numerous international conferences on
information visualization and edited books on
information visualization. He also served as a member
at large in the NATO Human Factors and Medicine Panel
and is a member of the IEEE Consumer Electronics
Administrative Committee.

Kalev H. Leetaru’s award-winning work centers on the
application of high performance computing to grand
challenge problems using news, social media and open
sources intelligence. He holds three U.S. patents and
more than 50 University Invention Disclosures, and has
been an invited speaker, panelist and discussant at
venues including the Library of Congress, Harvard,
Columbia, Stanford and UC Berkeley. His work has been
profiled in venues as diverse as Nature, the New York
Times, BBC, Discovery Channel, MSNBC and US News &
World Report, along with media outlets in more than
100 countries.
