Charlotte Block presented on measuring indicators for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) at the CORE Group Spring Meeting. She discussed Project HOPE's work in multiple countries to prevent and manage NCDs like diabetes through health worker training, education programs, and mobile health clinics. Key indicators measured include glycosylated hemoglobin A1c, fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI, waist circumference, quality of life surveys, and lifestyle factors. Integrated screening also tracks complications, co-infections, and access to healthcare. Project HOPE uses clinical labs, questionnaires, and anthropometric tests to monitor pre- and post-intervention outcomes.
