From my own experience people who are applying to university only have information made available from the universities for example websites open days and prospectuses, and dont have current students personal views on the university and experience as a hole such as (accommodation, facilities, courses, teaches, night life,)Students need to make a decision on where they will be spending the next 3-4 years of their life
The target audience are 18+ both male and female and living in the u.k
The amount of people attending university is as high as its ever been with 1.96 million currently enrolled and studying on a course within the UK.
We had 3 hours a day over a period of 4 weeks to make the App a reality We then had 3 hours a day for 3-4 weeks to make as much of that a reality as possible...The result is this...( talk through the video)...now available on the Android Market!!Our App is currently at the stage where prospective and University students are able to access information on the University of their choice and the Universities local attractions. Students Voice acts as a Hub where you can access information from Qype, Ucas and Google Maps based around their choice of University.
We hope to add further functionalities which will provide even more value to the user such as, writing your own reviews, social network integration and coverage of all UK universities. Our aim is to make student voice a key tool in the university lifestyle helping students on a daily basis.
Whats next for student voice in order to take things further, we plan to continue networking and building relationships with the people that can help us make this a reality. We will be investigating investments and funding options in order to support the app as it is taken through to the next level. The student voice team will continue refining the app and testing it and gaining useful feed back
