7. "I wrote to the people who were affected by it and expressed very
deep regret for what happened. "The person who was responsible
went immediately and lost his job and I have ensured that there
are new rules so this can't happen again.
8. Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:
“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in
Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything
they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do
not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy,
cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s
shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift
a finger to move them.
Matthew 23: 1-4
9. Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the
Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in
the law, tested him with this question: “Teacher,
which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment. And the
second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All
the Law and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments.”
Matthew 22: 34-40
12. But now apart from the law the righteousness of God
has been made known, to which the Law and the
Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through
faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no
difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have
sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are
justified freely by his grace through the redemption
that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 3: 21-24
13. All have sinned and are justified freely, without their
own works and merits, by His grace, through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus… This cannot be
otherwise acquired or grasped by any work, law or
merit. Therefore, it is clear and certain that this faith
alone justifies us…
…This one and firm rock, which we call the doctrine
of justification, is the chief article of the whole
Christian doctrine…

14. You have heard that it was said to the people long
ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders
will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone
who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to
judgment.
You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit
adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a
woman lustfully has already committed adultery with
her in his heart.
Matthew 5: 21-22, 27-28
