3. “Soooo, what? You, like, Facebook
all day?”
Well, like, No. I don’t.
It’s more like: meetings, calls with vendors,
calling reps from the paper, writing press
releases, meetings, posting for social media,
approving artwork, creating handouts, meetings,
editing articles, developing screensavers,
shooting Flip video, writing for the website,
meetings, writing marketing plans, shooting
photos, proofing newsletters, making posters,
taking registrations, meetings…oh, and eating.
4. Social Media History of FHC
It’s brief
Began in 2009
Started as Facebook only
Currently: FB, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Blog
**ROI of social media (our experience is very
positive!)
Very useful at keeping in touch with patients
5. In Campaigns…
The word is “Integration”
Nearly EVERYTHING we put out in traditional
media, we put out in social media
Saturation depends on the target audience
One point person, lots of input
Patient Privacy: lists, contests, etc.
7. Promoting Social Media
People find us (a positive and a negative)
Using traditional media
Adding icons to all webpages
Driving contests online
Health fair promotions
8. Ongoing interaction
What works for us:
Photos
News announcements
Physician announcements
Event reminders
Community specific posts
Contests!
10. Upkeep
Agency
New design and/or programming
Help write posts for campaigns

Monthly – Review analytics
Annually – Consider design changes
As needed – New multimedia, contests
11. Final Thoughts…
Do what you love! (Remember slide #1?)
Marketing something is easier when you care about it.
Get experience.
Even if along the way you’re stuck doing things that
don’t thrill you.
Do NOT stop learning.
