If it won’t kill the idea be prepared to find a suitable compromise Ideas change as they evolve – roll with them but stay true to your original purpose Show ‘bigger picture thinking’ - insight and understanding and ultimately will mean your skills will be more highly valued

Follows from the last point… When presenting or selling an idea in, be aware of what is essential to the communication - protect that for all it’s worth but allow negotiation on the not so important areas Often a minor concession will ease the passage of the idea as a whole - be aware and play the game to your advantage

Stay hungry Never stop learning Current changing climate means more ‘specialists’ are collaborating as teams, each owning and adding to the idea - cross platform thinking Don’t be precious, share and learn as much as you can, be open to new directions Great ideas are produced through great teams all adding their own skill and experience

12. Don’t be afraid to try …don’t be afraid to fail You can learn as much from a project that didn’t go as well as planned as from a soaringly successful one Just make sure you learn Recognise what went wrong, evaluate and adapt the idea to try again! Safe ideas never changed the world
