With Virtualisation solutions in each of these areas, we provide our customers the ability to provide the best solution for the customer depending on the individual need.For Data and User Settings: Folder redirection and roaming profiles having the user’s personal profile and data available dynamically on any authorized PC. Providing companies with the ability to back up personal profiles and data to the data center. Solutions: Application Virtualisation: Providing end users with the ability to have their business applications available on any authorized PC. Decoupling applications from the operating system (OS) and helping to eliminate application-to-application incompatibility, because applications are no longer installed on the local client machine. From a user perspective, these applications are integrated seamlessly—looking, feeling, and behaving like local applications.Enterprise Desktop Virtualisation providing companies with the ability to deploy and manage virtual Windows desktops to help enterprises upgrade to the latest version of Windows, without having to worry about application compatibility. - Optimised Desktop (used to) = Standardised hardware….It was the holy grail, but no one could achieve it (even if 20 machines were the same, chipsets were differentWhy was it a problem….
- Problems with XP – 1 OS Image per HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) meaning, 1 image for a single core, 1 for multi cores, 1 for HP’s, 1 for Dells, 1 For PCs and 1 for Tablets. A lot of Images! Managing this is like painting the 7 bridge. You never actually finish the task, you get to the end, MS release a SP and you have to update all the images.
