3. In many Bride Burning cases, the females are burned to death so that the males may find a new bride. Bride Burning in most of the time the outcome from a Dowry that did not satisfy the groom. Female Feticide is the killing of a fetus In 2001, India’s census showed a dramatic drop in the number of females The old tradition of Dowry payment often leave parents with little choice other than avoiding having a daughter. 15. Dowry is money or values paid to the husband to be from the brides family. Today dowry is no longer legal, but that doesn’t mean that it never happens. Many grooms even demand more money from the brides family before and after the wedding. If the Dowry isn’t paid or isn’t as much as the groom wanted, physical violence along with murder usually occurs. 16. Each of these things are contributing factors to the death of females. The Dowry brings each of these topics, Bride Burning, Child Marriage, and Female Feticide together as one because they are all a part of the big issue here which is Dowry Death. Even though there are laws against each of these things, the cultural ties to them seem to be stronger than the laws themselves.
