A photo album of the highlights of this year's High School Materials Camp was hosted at Allegheny College with field trips to Channellock, Inc. and SECO/WARWICK Corp. in Meadville, PA, sponsored by the NWPA Chapter of ASM International, the global technical society for materials science. The primary goal of Materials Camp is to provide high school students with exposure to the STEM fields by blending an academic and hands-on experience. Our special thanks to Allegheny professors Adele Poynor and Ryan VanHorn, the employees of Channellock and SECO/WARWICK, our high school students and all of our volunteers for making this year’s Camp curriculum come alive. This event is a special project of the ASM NWPA chapter in conjunction with a special grant provided by the ASM International Education Foundation. The ASM NWPA Chapter is able to host this student experience due to the support of our Members, Executive Committee, Directors, Sustaining Members and Chapter Sponsors.
