2. It’s fun to be eco!
It’s popular these days to be
eco – in other words, to
segregate wastes and not
polluting the Earth!
We must take care of the
environment that is around
us and the animals which
live near us!
3. What can we do at
home to help the
environment?
4. In order to decrease your negative influence on the
environment you can do a lot of things at your house:
* Turn off the light that you don’t use. Old lightbulbs can be replaced
with the energy saving ones.
* Save the water – turn the tap, take a shower instead of using a
bathtub.
* Segregate wastes, recycle.
* If your parents want to buy a car tell them to buy the one which fuel
consumption is less. Do not overheat your house in the winter.
* Do not „throw out” the pets, that you no longer want to take care of,
out of your house. Don’t buy a dog, cat, guinea pig or fish if you are not
sure that you will be able to take care of them.
6. In order to help rainforests:
* Do not buy products that are made of skin of wild animals, turtle shells etc.
* When you buy exotic pets choose those which are grow in captivity. During their
growth the environment was not harmed in any way. What is more, animals grown in
captivity are usually in better shape- you will be able to have fun with them more.
* Use recycled paper – which is made of wastepaper.
* Do not buy wooden products from Indonesia, Malesia, Brazil or Africa if they are not
made by manufacturers that protect the environment.
* Expand your knowledge about rainforests, plants and animals that exist there. Tell
your friends and parents why rainforests are so important.
8. Invite people to lead the lifestyles that
do not harm the environment.
Key role in the protection of rainforest and natural
environment is encouraging people to live lives that
will not harm the environment in great way. You and
your family can decrease your damaging influence on
the environment by driving cars that don’t use much
petrol, turning off unnecessary electrical hardware,
and recycling used materials.
9. Supporting firms that do not harm the
environment.
Nowadays, many firm do care about the environment.
These businesses are looking for ways to decrease
their negative influence on the environment by using
recycled materials, introducing new technologies that
use less energy, and supporting the protection of the
nature in other countries. If the consumers like you and
your parents will support such firms by choosing their
products and services they will contribute to the
improvement of the state of environment.
