The document summarizes several main problems facing Polish society, including alcoholism, aggression, drug addiction, crime, lack of affordable housing, and political instability. It notes that alcoholism is exacerbated by poverty and unemployment, leading to family and social problems. Drug addiction spread in the 1970s and 1980s before the dangers were fully recognized. Crime rates were previously high but have decreased, while computer hacking now poses problems. A shortage of affordable housing exists due to high prices. Political conflicts and instability also impact society. Solutions proposed include prevention education programs in schools, increasing affordable housing construction, and promoting tolerance and mutual agreements to address political issues.
4. -Alcoholism.
-Alcoholism.
Apart from unemployment, the poverty, caused by the lack of incomes is
growing. In the end, frustration and the mental breakdown causing
alcoholism are coming, which slowly, but regularly causes the greater
poverty. By losing the family a person ends up living in the street. The
alcoholism causes that a person stops thinking and functioning rationally.
Dangerous and very typicall are the situations in which drunk parents
forget about their duties. We often hear about fires, falling out of the
windows – these all happened because parents drank alcohol at that time ,
or didn't manage to sober up. This way one should regard alcoholism as one
of main problems of the Polish society. In our times, however, according to
new surveys an amount of vodka drunk is decreasing. However, the amount
of the consumption of wine and beer is rising.
Such tendencies are mostly seen amongst people with the
higher education and young people. Therefore, we can also talk
about so-called alcoholism of the upper classes as the social
disease.
5. -Aggression
-Aggression
Apart from poverty and
consequences associated with it,
alcoholism causes also the aggression.
In recent time the number of
children abused by intoxicated
parents has risen. Unfortunately, the
victims are often small children who
suffer the most.
6. -Drug addiction.
-Drug addiction.
Undoubtedly, a drug addiction is another illness which our society is
struggling with. The problem occured in Poland in 70’s, but only in 90s
it was treated more seriously. Undoubtedly, one of the reasons for
spreading drugs was the fashion in 70 for smoking and taking
hallucinogenic drugs which helped people „switch off their mind and
enter the state of the nirvana”. It quickly turned out that making
attempts to achieve this state of mind was harmful to the condition of
the body, but the explaination that the drugs are harmful took just too
long. Before they forbade them entirely in Poland, a lot of young people
died of overdosing, or destroyed their organisms. The MONAR
association established by Marek Kotański was first to make an attempt
to help addicted people dealing with their problems
7. -Crime.
-Crime.
The most probably tangible, apart from the unemployment and the
poverty problem of the Polish society is crime. However, the number of
crimes now is lower than, at the beginning of 90s, when unevenly
expanding society, particularly its low – life wanted the property level
compensation through common thefts and assaults. Smuggling drugs,
cigarettes, mobile phones, audio/video devices and home appliances is
very popular nowadays. Amongst the different forms of crime, the one
which is the most serious and still brings the most profit is the
computer piracy and hacking. However, the situation is slowly starting
to change.

9. -Flats are missing.
-Flats are missing.
One of the most important problems Polish people are
dealing with is the low number and high prices of flats.
People don’t have money for purchasing expensive
apartments and, what is more, they don’t have money for
building their own houses. It is about some 10 years ago
when the prices of flats were much lower and today paying
about 300 thousands for two-bedroom flat in the capital city
is just a dream for many young people.
Unfortunately, the not very realistic plan of building 3
million flats failed, and the program of „the first flat” is
on the similar degree of the development. Therefore, if
the young people are not earning some … 50 thousands
per year can forget about their own flat.

with cheaper
spaces to live will
solve the lack of
flats.
11. -Political problems
-Political problems
The world wars and other armed conflicts as well as the instability
of political systems are main political problems . The fall of the
communism in central and eastern Europe created the belief that
the threat of the war, or any military attacks will disappear from
the political life at the beginning of 90s. An armed conflict is
regarded as the war. On the retinue, a division into 2 blocks
disappeared politically - military, but still local armed conflicts
which often have character of civil wars remain. An armed conflict
is in the international law a notion broader than the war. These
are all signs of the armed struggle, even so, where the warfare
wasn't said to be present. We can come across a lot of ranking of
wars and other contemporary armed conflicts, they determine
their character, taking different evaluation criteria into
consideration.

agreement of the parties
in solving political
problems. A tolerance is
still solving this problem,
it can change everything!
