Greetings,
My name is Berica Robinson and I currently reside in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I’m pursuing my dream
of planning and coordinating events. My passion is:
‘Making visions realized’ become ‘visions actualized’

I was introduced to event planning in high school, where I planned, implemented, and raised over $1000 for the
March of Dimes. My love for event planning was heightened when I enrolled in an event management course at
Clemson University. After taking that course I became very active and held various positions in campus
organizations. During my tenure at Clemson University I was the Special Events Director for CLEMSONLiVE
(the student-led organization that brings entertainment to campus), Social and Fundraising Chair for Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Treasurer of the Women’s Leadership Committee, and an active member of many
other organizations.

Since relocating to Charlotte, I’ve been afforded many opportunities to not only plan and implement events, but
also to market the events. As the Graduate Assistant for the Office of Women’s Programs at the University of
North Carolina at Charlotte I assisted in creating, planning and implementing programs and events on campus A
that raised awareness to women’s issues ranging from women empowerment to domestic violence. My tasks
also included planning conferences, round-table events, ‘Lunch & Learns’, informational programs and
interacting with students, vendors, and panelists. I also utilized marketing techniques such as mass emails,
                  Donec Vitae Sem
media releases, e-newsletters, while also capitalizing on my social media skills by using Facebook and twitter.

Last summer I was afforded the opportunity to serve as the Development Intern with Freedom School Partners,
Inc. located in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this position I was responsible for event planning, marketing,
communications, PR, creating and cultivating relationships through various facets of communication, social
media management, and database management. I played an integral role in implementing Freedom School
Partners’ annual Carolinas Jubilee fundraiser. My biggest accomplishment in this role was initiating, cultivating
and managing Freedom School Partners partnership with Sole Plus. This partnership resulted in over 200 local
children receiving new Converse® for Christmas.
     A. Proin tristique.
My ultimate goal is to become an Event Manger for an organization that has a people centric culture, and is
dedicated to leaving a positive impact on its local community. B

Sole Plus’ “SOLEcial Activism” and Art|Sole|Life Tour leaves its footprint on Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (December 12, 2011)-- Atlanta based nonprofit Sole Plus, hosted over 350 people at McColl Center
for Visual Arts, Friday December 9th, 2011. A wide variety of the community came out to support the event and learn
more about Sole Plus’s initiatives and collaboration with Freedom School Partners.

Sole Plus, Inc, conducted its weeklong, “SOLEcial Activism” workshop at Seigle Point Afterschool Center, in
collaboration with Freedom School Partners, from December 7-9th, 2011.
This weeklong art workshop introduced 100 afterschool students to the importance of using art as an emotional outlet.
The students, with assistance from 30 Charlotte artists, created and designed their own custom made sneakers donated by
Converse, often referred to as “Chucks”.

Sole Plus, in collaboration with McColl Center for Visual Arts, celebrated the successful workshop by hosting over 350
community patrons at its Art|Sole|Life exhibition on Friday, December 9, 2011. The event showcased the works of the
local artists who volunteered with SOLEcial Activism. Brian Miller (Founder and Executive Director of Sole Plus)
presented Mary Nell McPherson (Executive Director of Freedom School Partners, Inc.) with a custom made pair of
Freedom School Partners Chuck Taylors.

“The support we’ve received from the Charlotte community has been overwhelming and greatly appreciated, and
Art|Sole|Life will definitely be back!” stated Brian Keith Miller, founder of Sole Plus.

Sole Plus’s Art|Sole|Life’s next tour stop will be held in Soho, NY. For more information please visit www.soleplus.org

About Sole Plus:
The Sole Plus initiative began in September of 2009, and has allowed hundreds of young people to use their artistic talents
to connect with those in need. Sole Plus is a 501 - c3, non-profit organization that was founded on the quote by Pablo
Picasso, “Art washes away from the [sole] the dust of everyday life.” The SOLES of our shoes collect dust and dirt from
places traveled in the same way that our SOULS collect dust through life’s trials. The Sole Plus design workshops
metaphorically wash the dust and dirt from the SOULS of our young artists by providing them with an avenue of
expression. Sole Plus literally washes away the dust and dirt from the SOLES of our shoe recipients by providing a
needed pair of shoes to replace old ones. For more information about Sole Plus visit www.soleplus.org.

Re: Recommendation for Faye Berica Robinson

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is my personal recommendation for Faye Berica Robinson. I have been serving as Ms. Robinson's
immediate supervisor for the past several months. I found her to be consistently pleasant, tackling all assignments
with dedication and a smile.

Besides being a joy to work with, Ms. Robinson is a take-charge person who is able to present creative ideas and
communicate the benefits. She has successfully executed several multifaceted marketing plans for our organization
that have resulted in increased revenue. During her short tenure, Ms. Robinson was able to develop strong working
relationships while maintaining a professional demeanor amidst many hectic circumstances.

Though she was an asset to our fundraising efforts, Ms. Robinson was also extraordinarily helpful in other areas of
the company. In addition to effective event planning and coordination, Ms. Robinson produced reports, managed
database systems and social media systems, all while developing processes and procedures so new systems could be
managed effectively.

I highly recommend Ms. Robinson for employment. She is a team player and would make a great asset to any
organization.

Sincerely,

Hillary Ryan Dye
Director of Development

  • 3. Greetings, My name is Berica Robinson and I currently reside in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I’m pursuing my dream of planning and coordinating events. My passion is: ‘Making visions realized’ become ‘visions actualized’ I was introduced to event planning in high school, where I planned, implemented, and raised over $1000 for the March of Dimes. My love for event planning was heightened when I enrolled in an event management course at Clemson University. After taking that course I became very active and held various positions in campus organizations. During my tenure at Clemson University I was the Special Events Director for CLEMSONLiVE (the student-led organization that brings entertainment to campus), Social and Fundraising Chair for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Treasurer of the Women’s Leadership Committee, and an active member of many other organizations. Since relocating to Charlotte, I’ve been afforded many opportunities to not only plan and implement events, but also to market the events. As the Graduate Assistant for the Office of Women’s Programs at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte I assisted in creating, planning and implementing programs and events on campus A that raised awareness to women’s issues ranging from women empowerment to domestic violence. My tasks also included planning conferences, round-table events, ‘Lunch & Learns’, informational programs and interacting with students, vendors, and panelists. I also utilized marketing techniques such as mass emails, Donec Vitae Sem media releases, e-newsletters, while also capitalizing on my social media skills by using Facebook and twitter. Last summer I was afforded the opportunity to serve as the Development Intern with Freedom School Partners, Inc. located in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this position I was responsible for event planning, marketing, communications, PR, creating and cultivating relationships through various facets of communication, social media management, and database management. I played an integral role in implementing Freedom School Partners’ annual Carolinas Jubilee fundraiser. My biggest accomplishment in this role was initiating, cultivating and managing Freedom School Partners partnership with Sole Plus. This partnership resulted in over 200 local children receiving new Converse® for Christmas. A. Proin tristique. My ultimate goal is to become an Event Manger for an organization that has a people centric culture, and is dedicated to leaving a positive impact on its local community. B B. Curabitur. C 3

(December 12, 2011)-- Atlanta based nonprofit Sole Plus, hosted over 350 people at McColl Center for Visual Arts, Friday December 9th, 2011. A wide variety of the community came out to support the event and learn more about Sole Plus’s initiatives and collaboration with Freedom School Partners. Sole Plus, Inc, conducted its weeklong, “SOLEcial Activism” workshop at Seigle Point Afterschool Center, in collaboration with Freedom School Partners, from December 7-9th, 2011. This weeklong art workshop introduced 100 afterschool students to the importance of using art as an emotional outlet. The students, with assistance from 30 Charlotte artists, created and designed their own custom made sneakers donated by Converse, often referred to as “Chucks”. Sole Plus, in collaboration with McColl Center for Visual Arts, celebrated the successful workshop by hosting over 350 community patrons at its Art|Sole|Life exhibition on Friday, December 9, 2011. The event showcased the works of the local artists who volunteered with SOLEcial Activism. Brian Miller (Founder and Executive Director of Sole Plus) presented Mary Nell McPherson (Executive Director of Freedom School Partners, Inc.) with a custom made pair of Freedom School Partners Chuck Taylors. “The support we’ve received from the Charlotte community has been overwhelming and greatly appreciated, and Art|Sole|Life will definitely be back!” stated Brian Keith Miller, founder of Sole Plus. Sole Plus’s Art|Sole|Life’s next tour stop will be held in Soho, NY. For more information please visit www.soleplus.org About Sole Plus: The Sole Plus initiative began in September of 2009, and has allowed hundreds of young people to use their artistic talents to connect with those in need. Sole Plus is a 501 - c3, non-profit organization that was founded on the quote by Pablo Picasso, “Art washes away from the [sole] the dust of everyday life.” The SOLES of our shoes collect dust and dirt from places traveled in the same way that our SOULS collect dust through life’s trials. The Sole Plus design workshops metaphorically wash the dust and dirt from the SOULS of our young artists by providing them with an avenue of expression. Sole Plus literally washes away the dust and dirt from the SOLES of our shoe recipients by providing a needed pair of shoes to replace old ones. For more information about Sole Plus visit www.soleplus.org. About Freedom School Partners: Freedom School Partners is dedicated to serving at-risk students and families living in poverty in Charlotte, N.C. • 16. April 11, 2012 Re: Recommendation for Faye Berica Robinson To Whom It May Concern: This letter is my personal recommendation for Faye Berica Robinson. I have been serving as Ms. Robinson's immediate supervisor for the past several months. I found her to be consistently pleasant, tackling all assignments with dedication and a smile. Besides being a joy to work with, Ms. Robinson is a take-charge person who is able to present creative ideas and communicate the benefits. She has successfully executed several multifaceted marketing plans for our organization that have resulted in increased revenue. During her short tenure, Ms. Robinson was able to develop strong working relationships while maintaining a professional demeanor amidst many hectic circumstances. Though she was an asset to our fundraising efforts, Ms. Robinson was also extraordinarily helpful in other areas of the company. In addition to effective event planning and coordination, Ms. Robinson produced reports, managed database systems and social media systems, all while developing processes and procedures so new systems could be managed effectively. I highly recommend Ms. Robinson for employment. She is a team player and would make a great asset to any organization. Sincerely, Hillary Ryan Dye Director of Development Freedom School Partners 16
