5. When creating trivia keep in mind:
• Accessibility – make it easy to begin with so people feel confident to answer.
Make the answer concrete and something people can answer in under 3 words.
• Context – if you’re doing a hard question, add an “ADVANCED” label so the
community don’t get discouraged if they don’t know it.
• Be consistent – if you’re doing a trivia night each week, make sure you do it on
the same day.
• Promote it – advertise it in the room over the previous few days, add it to your
room description and add a ping about it.
TRIVIA NIGHTS
6. • Check out the room each week and see what people are talking about.
• Can you create content, a meme, a quiz or trivia inspired by these
comments?
WHAT ARE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT?
7. Get people excited about show day!
Post in the afternoon before the show with one of the big cliffhanger questions to get
people speculating. It is a good idea to @mention your room regulars. This means,
when people come to the room they have something to talk about immediately.
Example: “Who will fight Tyrion’s match? @Sara, @Mary what you do think?”
Chat during the show
Ask open questions, respond to other users and keep the conversation flowing.
Send a ping 1 hour before the show to remind people it's on, or to engage in the
conversation you posted in the afternoon.
CHAT DURING THE SHOW
8. The conversation doesn’t just need to happen during the show!
The next day
Discuss the show with an open question - what moment made you laugh, cry or get
angry? It doesn't need to be the end of show cliffhanger.
Example: "this was my favourite quote from Jon Snow last night. What was yours?"
A few days later in the week:
Between the episode, consider content that is around the theme of the show - this
could be trivia, a hypothetical discussion about characters, behind the scenes
gossip, or related to the show world.
Example: “Would you live in Mereen or North of the wall?”
CHAT DURING THE WEEK
9. • Be a room host, to encourage people in the room to talk to each other.
Actively encourage other members to interact to break the barriers of
lurking and liking.
• For Example: “I’m not sure of the answer- but I maybe @Toby would
know!”
INTRODUCE ROOMIES TO EACH OTHER
10. • If you see new people commenting in your room, do a post to welcome
them. This will make them feel a part of your community and more
confident to post.
• Ask them a friendly question to get to know them.
• Don’t forget to tag them in your welcome.
• Example: “Welcome to @Mary who has joined the room! Mary, who is your
favourite character in the show?”
WELCOME NEWBIES
11. • Consider how you will reward your community for
getting involved! This helps people feel appreciated
and want to return.
• Examples of this is Comment of the Week, Fan Of
The Week, or Trivia Leaderboard.
SHARE THE LOVE
12. • Keep in mind that some
people some want a
conversation. Some just want
to comment. Learn the
difference in your community
and don’t engage.
KNOW WHEN TO BACK OFF
In this example, this user didn’t want to
engage in any conversation about the
topic, just wanted to say their opinion:
13. • You can report someone’s
comment. When it
recieves multiple reports,
will be fed through to
Beamly staff to review.
REPORT INAPPROPRIATE COMMENTS
14. Beamly has a set of Community Guidelines, which we
expect all members to abide by:

mobile.

HORIZONTAL IMAGES ALL THE WAY
16. q Post games to get your community engaged, like Trivia.
q Can your community inspire you to create new posts?
q Post content during the week to get your community talking.
q Be a host an encourage other people to chat to each other.
q Welcome new room members and ask them a question to get them
involved.
