2. Drive Times
• 34 Hour Restart once per week every 168 hours
must have 2 periods that include 1:00am-5:00am off
duty time.
• 14 consecutive hour starts any kind of work , can’t
drive again till off duty and or sleeper berth for
another 10 consecutive hours.
• 10 consecutive hours
– come to work@ 6am drive from 7a-2p. Take a 30 minute
break can drive 4 hours till 6:30p. Can’t drive again until 10
consecutive hours off.
3. On Duty Off Duty
• On duty time includes time @ plant, terminal,
shipper, public property waiting to be dispatched,
driving time.
• Off duty time includes relieved of all duty and
responsibility for performing work. Leave place
where vehicle is parked. Not doing any work for
motor carrier.
4. Sleeper Berth
• 10 consecutive hours off duty time. Can’t go
on duty or drive during those 10 hours. At end
of 10 consecutive hours your 11 hour driving
and 14 hour duty period limits would
completely restart. Can include 8 hours of
sleeper berth.
