A pharmaceutical product that is intended to enhance visibility throughout the Supply Chain. RFID Systems are used throughout Supply Chains. Since RFID Systems have a tag-reader infrastructure, a tagged asset has to be within 10 feet of a reader for the data to be read and sent to a cloud. This limitation causes many in-transit problems with counterfeit or tampered product entering the Supply Chain and millions of dollars are lost. We use a tiny, cost-effective, GPS tag to track assets in-transit giving you an end-to-end security program.

3. Mission Statement
9/9/2015 Joseph E. Jesson, Ashray Jha 3
We use cutting edge technology to provide
effective supply chain solutions. Our solutions
are intended to enhance visibility throughout
the supply chain. We will work with our
customers to provide customized solutions that
meet their needs.
4. 9/9/2015 Joseph E. Jesson, Ashray Jha 4
In most Pharmaceutical Supply Chains, RFID
systems are used. Since an RFID system has a tag-reader
infrastructure, the tagged asset has to be within 10 feet
of a reader for the data to be scanned and sent to the
cloud. This causes many issues in transit with
counterfeit, tampered, and stolen products in the
Pharmaceutical Supply Chain and causing companies to
lose millions. Thus we have created a “Pill Bottle
Tracker” which is a small GSM board that utilizes
Satellite and Cellular networks to provide an end-to-
end security program.

8. RFID products compared to Our product
RFID products
• RFID can be costly
– Infrastructure can cost from $500 to $3M
• Having to replace a damaged reader
can be very costly
– Leads to a costly development cycle
• Very difficult to integrate with the
existing system
• Hard to configure and manage
devices
– Increased Labor Costs
• Tag needs to be close to the reader
in order to read the RFID Tag which
is scanned.
Our Product
• Our product eliminates costs of the RFID
Reader Infrastructure:
– ZERO Reader Infrastructure
– Data is sent to a Portal, over the Cellular
or Satellite Network
– Shorten development cycle
• Easy to integrate with existing
system-to-data portal.
– Automation
• The device will send the data via the
portal straight to your computer to
access the data in Real-Time
• Possible to send data directly to
your smartphone – great for
Prototyping.
9/9/2015 Joseph E. Jesson, Ashray Jha 8
9. Product Integrity
• Have a complete end to end
security program that enhances
visibility
– Avoid issues with parallel trade.
• Better visibility allows you to know if
products are being transported from
other countries to be sold in a major
market. The tracker can help identify
which wholesaler is driving down
market value and leads to a crackdown
of parallel trade
– Asses the integrity of the
product.
• GPS tracking allows security personnel
and quality assurance personnel to
verify the integrity of the product.

a Ford Fusion. Throughout the duration of the trip, GPS
Coordinates were calculated and recorded every 5
minutes.
10. Accuracy of Data
9/9/2015 Joseph E. Jesson, Ashray Jha 10
The issue with tracking in cities Is there are
weak signals due to tall buildings and other
sources of interference. To deal with this
AGPS and Multiple Samples/packet were
applied. Testing was done in NYC and
Singapore as a worst-case scenario. Testing
revealed we now obtain a 5m Circular Error
Probability (CEP) fix in <40 seconds.

13. 5m CEP fix
9/9/2015 Joseph E. Jesson, Ashray Jha 13
Asset View on a Portal:
The Pill Bottle was moved into my hotel room and this illustrates the indoor (specific case)
accuracy of ~5m CEP. Building is apparently a wood stick architecture as a metal roof would
block weak GPS signals at < -150 dBm. Cellular signals can be used in conjunction with GPS for
increased signal strength. We have many data portal options and keep in mind this data can
be sent directly to your Smartphone.

17. Battery Life Data
6/5/2013 Joseph E. Jesson, Ashray Jha 17
Power Management – Leverage RTC Mode, GPS Time Short
Variation in Battery Life:
To achieve our battery goal of
~30 days/charge, the majority
of time needs to be in RTC (or
Alarm) mode at < 30 uA and
GPS enabled at <6
transmissions/24 hrs and
Network Registration is OFF
during this interim sleep
mode. A much higher
frequency mode (full track,
GPS always-on) may be
switched on anytime OTA for
security needs although
battery life drops to ~1-2 days.
