Asmetrohasbecomeapartofthelifestyleofpeoplerecidingindelhi,italso
servesasasocialinteractionspaceforpeopletogatherandrelaxafterlong
tiringworkingday.Consideringtheaspects,thewholesitehasbeendevided
intosemi-open,openandcoveredspaces.
Incorporationoflightwellsforthe
underground metro station has
beendonetoprovideproperlight
and air ventilation, also at the
ground levelthese wellsprovides
an aesthetic element creating a
morerelaxingplaceforpeopleand
passangepassangers.

4. Thedifferentlevelssignifiesthedifferentzones.Ground
floorwhichisaccessiblebyallispublicareacomprising
ofcommercialand parking areas,the concourse level
comprisesoftheticketcountersandsemi-privatezone,
thethirdleveliswherethetrainsrun.
Thecoreideabehindthedesignistoprovidethepassangersandgeneralpublic
aspacetorelaxandtoinetract.Thedesignconsistsofsemi-openandopenfood
corners and commercialshops.Also,the design have open airtheaterto
facilitatedifferentsmallculturalprograms.

BASIC IDEOLOGYOFTHEDESIGN
Thecoreideaorconceptbehindthisdesignistointerprettheknowledge
andtheresearchabouttheIndusValleycivilizationwhosetraceshavebeen
foundatRakhigarhi,asmallvillage,inHisar,Haryana.Theideaistocreate
atimeline,dividedinfourphases,displayingthecurrentscenarioandthe
lifestyleofthecivilization.
Allthespaceshasbeenwellconnectedtoeachotherviaopencourtyards
creatingfocalpointsandplacesofinterest.Theopenspacescreatesanex-
perienceforvisitors.

Oneofthemostinterestingthingaboutthedesignisthatalltheopeningsofthegalleriesarefacingeitheropengreenareasorthesmall
coutyards.Also,themainfrontfacadeofthemuseumbuildingiskeptcleanwithoutanyopeningtoprovideaundisturbedopencourt(one
cannotseetheentrancefromthegalleries.
