Colonel Martin Zybura Chief of Staff
COL Martin Zybura serves as the Chief of Staff of the Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala. He is the principal assistant to the commanding general for planning, coordinating, directing, supervising and training of the more than 200 headquarters staff members, and coordinates support and oversight of two one-star subordinate commands and five subordinate contracting centers.
Headquartered at Redstone Arsenal, ACC is a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Materiel Command. ACC includes two subordinate commands, the Mission and Installation Contracting Command and the Expeditionary Contracting Command, and five major contracting centers that support major acquisition programs. Prior to becoming the ACC Chief of Staff, he served as the Commander, 413th Contracting Support Brigade, Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
COL Zybura is a native of Garfield, NJ and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army in 1989. He entered the Army Acquisition Corps in 1999 and his acquisition experience consists of contracting, acquisition logistics and technology integration, program management and science and technology development.
He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He received a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington in 1999 and a master’s degree from the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, KS in 2002. COL Zybura has completed the Field Artillery Basic and Advanced Courses at Fort Sill, OK.
His assignments include:Ammunition Officer/Fire Direction Officer/ Firing Battery Platoon Leader, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea; Battalion Intelligence Officer S-2/Tactical Intelligence Officer, III Corps, Fort Sill, OK; Battalion Fire Support Officer/Battery Commander, 37th Field Artillery, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, WA; Chief Operations Group Acquisition Support, National Training Center, Fort Irwin CA; Branch Chief, Contracting Operations, Osan Air Force Base, Republic of Korea; Chief, Acquisition Logistics and Technology Branch, 403rd Army Field Support Brigade, Camp Henry, Republic of Korea; Operations Officer and Division Chief, 411th Contracting Support Brigade, Seoul, Republic of Korea; Operations Officer, 408th Contracting Support Brigade, Fort McPherson, GA and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait; Product Manager, Large Caliber Ammunition, Picatinny Arsenal , NJ; Director, Enterprise and Systems Integration Center, Armaments Research, Development and Engineering Center, Picatinny Arsenal.
COL Zybura’s military decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (five oak leaf clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (one oak leaf cluster), the Army Achievement Medal (four oak leaf clusters), the National Defense Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, Global War Terror Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Parachutist Badge. He is a member of the Army Acquisition Corps and is level III certified in Contracting and Program Management and level II certified in Acquisition Logistics.
