2. Teens Make Their Voice Heard
UR Votes Count engaged, educated and
entertained teens throughout the country in 2008.
During this history-making election year, teens were
more interested in politics and issues facing the
nation than ever before. It became clear early on
that our teen constituents wanted to be heard. And
we were excited to hear what they had to say.

3. Teens Declare Their Involvement …
At each event, teens proudly displayed their
signature declaring their involvement in the
election process. Teens were given an
opportunity to learn about the issues and the
presidential candidates so they would be in a
position to make an informed choice.

“In The Know”…
UR Votes Count

not presented, a
“Speak Up” station was
available for teens to
convey their own
hot topics.

5. “What’s at Stake?” Issue Cards were
distributed at the UR Votes Count mall
events to educate teens on important
topics being debated on the campaign
trail. The cards featured facts about
each topic as well as thought-provoking
questions for teens to discuss with
parents, teachers and friends.

After educating themselves on the issues and the platforms
of each presidential candidate, teens were able to vote at
the “Polling Place” which was designed to simulate authentic
voting booths utilizing touch screen PDA’s and privacy
screens. As part of the voting process, teens had the
opportunity to choose their favorite charity with the winning
charity receiving a $15,000 donation.

7. Voting Has Its Privileges…
By casting their vote, teens
were automatically registered
for valuable sweepstakes
prizes including a $10,000
shopping spree and were
given an opportunity to
register for The Club, GGP’s
e-mail loyalty program. All
“voters” were able to spin the
SoBe prize wheel to receive
an instant prize including
